Higher Tier Epiphany/Profundity Etc

I know you are supposed to get these via similar tier researching, but for the life of me I'm still getting slight and mild epiphanies researching lvl 35+ gear. Something (common sense) tells me this is a mistake, but feel free to correct me if I'm missing something.
