Why are virtually all power replacers melee/weapon oriented

I've just noticed that all the rewards I get that are power replacers generally give one choice and almost always it is for blades. Now that I've got a few levels into arms crafting I'm seeing that again it is all melee type weapons and guns.

Is this intended to enhance those power sets? Do elemental, mystic power sets ever get any power replacers?

I have mysticism, and it's mostly weapons as well. Archery, dual blades/single blades. There is one for gadgets, fire, ice and telekinesis, if I recall correctly. I think it's part of the mechanic for these abilities (thematically, you have an enchanted weapon that acts as replacer).

    Mainly 'weapon' based it seems.

You get a few for the other builds.

Simple reason - it's because this is how different weapon shapes are unlocked. Powers which don't use weapon models get fewer power replacers because they don't have duplicate power replacers which differ only by shape.

There definitely are power replacers for non-weapon power sets, but because those don't have costume unlocks there's only one basic model, not several all with the same stats and different shapes.

I've made it a point to set aside every single Sorcery power replace I've come across in-game, from level 1 to level 33. I have 3. There is another one in the Mysticism crafting tree, and one more in the perk rewards. That makes 5 total that I'm aware of.

    That seems pretty low.

Assuming they all do different damage types id say thats pretty high, since your not changing any animations with your power replacer just getting a proc chance for extra damage. Like one of the above posters said the costume unlocks is the reason for elemental/spellcaster type abilities not having as many, they only need one per damage type.
