No craft level increase

I've just created a new char with Science->Invention. Currently the skill is at 24 and I am in project greenskin, but I've stopped gaining skill for opening containers. I've just opened 25 containers in one instance, without a single skill increase, and then another 10 in another instance, without a single increase. My other char with 150 in Ordanance still gets increases for opening containers.

    happened to me too i think they capped it in those zones i use to just buff my skill to 00 from it when i hit 11 craft with the supplies and experiment =/

    Yup, looks like that is the case. I comlpleted Rad Domination, and went back to the proper desert, and finally found a backpack (They seem a lot more scare than the weapon chests) and my science skill went to 25.

    The fastest way to raise your skill is by deconstructing items you've found and received from quests. At that level, you can get 10 skill points a pop by Researching an item.

    same issue here. some characters get points for opening containers, some dont. some get points for making stuff, some dont. researching always works, but Ive yet to discover any consistencies for the other two actions

    There are a couple of bugged container types in the 1-100 range, they are on the fix list for the content folks to replace with the correct ones. Experimenting is heavily favored over farming at that skill range so while it is unfortunate, it shouldn't have any real impact on your ability to level your crafting skill.

    Are you supposed to get a point every time you open a container then? I just assumed when I stopped getting points for containers that you were supposed to get everything through experimentation.

    It's completely random when opening containers in your level range. 25% chance, IIRC.

    I'd much rather see it scale so that you could get points reliably by opening the right containers, but eh.

    Just keep crafting and disassembling things, you go up very fast that way. You can typically get 9 points (1 for crafting and 8 for disassembly) each time and you also get insights and such that way.

    Just in desert crisis, on other characters I'm usually between 20-40 skill level from arms boxes / mysticism skeletons but on science I've now collected 50+ containers and am still lvl 1 crafting (lvl 2 once I made the rad protection device) also from the lack of anything to "experiment" on not much I can do really.
