Why is this item purple quality when the green item seems better?

Am I missing something... A dev response would be nice if no one knows why.

Flash Point
Level 26 Green (Science)
Primary Utility
+30 Endurance
+12 Intelligence
+3 Ego
+12 Physical Defense
+12 Energy Defense

Sage Unfading Crown
Level 26 Purple (Mysticism)
Primary Utility
+28 Endurance
+9 Intelligence
+14 Physical Defense
+14 Energy Defense

Does the +2 to both defenses really make that big of a difference to make an item become purple quality? There is a difference of +4 points (+69 for the green vs +65 for the purple) between the two items.

I'm confused... :) See the attached picture.

it's probably got one of the 'broken' secondary abilities attached.

Purple is drop and Green is mission reward?

The same reason the stats on PvP items are a joke compared with other stuff? No ones really sure.

It's probably the defense stats. I saw two items once, the exact same item only one was white and the other green, and the only difference was that the green was like +0.4 Defense or something over what the white had. Also bare in mind that the stat differance isn't huge, it's a total of 45 in the first to 37 in the second, but the more you spread it out the bigger the number, so if the purple item governed three stats it'd probably be more of a 40-42 total at least.

I've seen some messed up rewards though, like the blue gear you get from the Argent Refinery final mission is just a +end on kill, Blue, while I'd previously gotten a green item, two levels lower, that had the exact same +end on kill effect +12/12 defense. The blue one litterally did nothing better than the lower level green and wa considerably worse (unless it had undocumented functions). I'm also finding a lot of mission gear that just doesn't stack up, offering a few vague effects, but minimal stats and/or no defense so that what you do geat cannot possibly be as useful as what you'd be missing out on. I made a thread around someplace about "vampire" items, and how their effect is really much weaker than it should be.
