"Enhancements" do what exactly?

So, I just managed to learn my first "Enhancement", and I have no idea what or where it is. When I learned the blueprint, it said "You have learned Force Fields".

I went to the crafting table and... nothing.

So, can anyone tell me what exactly this enhancement is enhancing, and how it works?

Enhancements are for certain craftable items. These items are essentially "shells" of an item. The enhancements determine what abilities the items have beyond their damage mitigation. There are Minor and Major enhancements. Some items only use Minor, while other will use Minor and Major. You can also increase the quality of the item for stronger stats or abilities, but it will use more materials.

You need to learn a customizable blueprint (it will show up on the list in italics), then you can select enhancements for it.

eg. You learn a customizable primary offense item. You then choose a major enhancement that gives constitution and a minor that gives 5% health.

Makes a lot more sense once you unlock one of the italicized blueprint items (I dont know the proper name :P). The Arms guide stickied in this section has a good explanation (applies to all the disciplines afaik).
