Are blueprint costs too much?

So I went from ~260-299 skill fairly quickly when I was experimenting with 5/5 rating to get profundities. As a result I had to buy quite a few blueprints from the general trainer and the enchanted gear trainer. I started with roughly 15g and maybe ~40s and after buying maybe 4-5 enchanted gear, 8-9 enhancements, 1 consumables I ended up with approx 7g and change. Considering respec costs, the somewhat lack of an economy, this seems like an awful lot to spend.

I generally try to get mysticism quest rewards when I have no useful quest rewards and so I end up dismantling most of my loot.

They do for being a complete mystery.

Would be nice if we knew what they did before we buy them....

Once I got to 300 skill level I blew 9g on enhancements, now I have nothing. I would guess that yes, they are pretty expensive. On the other hand, if you grind mats you can make items and sell them to the vendor for over 1g, so I guess with some mat searching you can make your money back pretty quickly.

Some of the lvl 400 blueprints are 10gold + 3great insights, bought one by accident today and top it off the recipe sucked.

I don't think this would be a problem, if you could see the stats of the item that the blueprint makes before you buy it. Then people who just wanted all the recipes would have to pay a lot (which is fair IMO), but you wouldn't have to do so if you only wanted specific ones.
