Unlocking Costume Pieces

If I complete a quest that has an item that unlocks a costume piece, does it only unlock for that character, or does it unlock for all of them? Because I have found alot of weapon costume pieces and I won't use them on my main but it would be nice to have for an alt at a later point...or should I save them in bank to mail to an alt that could use?

    I believe at the moment it only unlocks on the charater that got the item.

    Whenever I get a reward that unlocks an costume piece or craft something that unlocks a costume piece I always just equip it and even though I can't use the majority of them (i'm electricty, i must have unlocked at least 20 different swords/guns etc) and then vendor it. Just in case at somepoint the unlocks will be account wide.

    I did this for a while but now I'm going to put them in bank so i can use on other chars, unless they are bop in which case i'll do what you are.
