I understand there are different ranks of superjump and damage is based on maximum height and changes in elevation that cause falling damage, as well as mob attacks lowering ranks mid jump. I am aware of how these work and they are not the issue.
THE ISSUE:
While at phase 3 Superjump I can jump straight up to my max jump height and come straight back down and without taking enemy damage or change in elevation I will sometimes (I would say 25% of the time) take upwards of 350-550 damage when I land. Again, phase 3 superjump I sometimes get damage on landing that can be as much as half my current hit points. This is simply straight up and down with no changes in elevation. This has to be incorrect and I hope is NOT working as intended.
Can anyone else confirm this? It is ridiculous to jump from the powerhouse door to Justiciar and take 600 points of damage when I land for a straight jump.
My roommate had the same issue tonight, If he was just jumping up and down he never took damage but the second the elevation changed to a lower elevation from where he originally took off or if he was aggroed by a monster while jumping he would take upwards of three to five-hundred dmg.
I'm disappointed in most of the travel forms atm, they are supposed to be used for travel but while flying through the air, bounding over buildings, or running at mach speeds and ignoring mobs if one of them happens to notice me I'm immediately dropped to my lowest speed boost, how does that help me travel fast when traveling through Canada or the desert or even MC I have to stop every 50 feet to kill the group of mobs that agroed me and stoped me from traveling. Thinking at mach speed stuff shouldn't be able to react to my presence before I'm LONG gone.
Teammate also reported same issue, and i could check his life meter going down while jumping from a place to another with a lower high. I hope they fix this quickly
Well I understand those two aspects, they are working the way the devs have coded them to work. From what I can tell you take damage if you change considerable elevations due to the max jump and or fall distances. I am ok with that. I understand that if I jump of one of the Ren Center buildings I should eventually take fall damage. I also know that I take damage and get kind of "borked" when getting aggroed. That is also ok because that is how it is supposed to be (even though it sucks).
My issue is from simply jumping straight up and down, with no elevation changes and no aggro from mobs. Randomly taking 300-700 damage.
I would like to get some dev word on this or maybe a travel power respec, right now I can't leave Steelhead without losing half my health from a simple jump. It is unplayable for this character.
