Arms vs. Mysticism (Swords)

My character uses single blade. Looking at the power replacers it seems Arms is better than Mysticism as far as stats go, but then I wonder... why have craftable single blade power replacers in Mysticism at all?

Are the 'Swords' in Mysticism better looking than the ones in arms? What is the advantage here or better yet, why are they offered at all?

I think they put them there because enchanted (mystical) swords are pretty popular in the fantasy genre. Think of all the "flaming swords of justice +3" or whatever in dungeons and dragons or WoW :)

Well, and magical swords or similar items as part of a character's power set is classic genre-defining for super-humans and mythical heroes. Excalibur, Durandal, Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. I'm sure other people can come up with more, those are just the ones which leap to mind immediately. And on a more general level supernatural weapons are virtually ubiquitous with superhuman individuals of mythic nature. Hercules had a giant metal club or something like that, Thor has his hammer, and I'm sure others are out there I'm just not thinking of right now. Magical weapons, especially swords, are part of the whole 'superhuman warrior' genre and have been for at least 1200 years, no reason to cut them out now.

Personally, I'm kinda sad there's no supernatural GUNS, but hey there's gotta be some limits on which replacements go in which crafting sets.
