Power Replacer Drops Question

Is there a point to the drops being divided up into arms, science and mysticism...other than flavour? I wouldn't have thought so, but I noticed a major discrepancy in the selling prices listed on science vs arms with my science toon. The science drops were worth a *lot* more to sell at the store. Is this the only difference or are there some actual benefits to using drops from your own crafting school?

    You can disassemble items from your crafting school for components and skill increases.

    Thanks! Haven't really explored the crafting stuff yet. I'll check that out.
