Server not responding every login

I have been able to play fine through beta and headstart up untill yesterday evening (uk time) at which point in the middle of a fight I got a big lag spike and disconnected. Since then I have got the error 'server not responding' either during loading or immediately after loading and am unable to move or do anything else - the game either just stays like that indefinately or disconnects me back to the login screen.
I have rebooted my router several times but that hasn't helped, I have played a few other online games and they are all working fine with no lag but I still cannot get into game for more than a couple of seconds before it locks up and loses connection.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be as I am at a loss?
