I'm sure you are all smarter than me but this is how i fixed my gf's rediculously low fps.
Yesterday I posted about having extremelly low fps on my gf's laptop but not on my computer.
We had played other games together without any issue such as WAR.
but it was unplayable on her machine even on the lowest settings.
So I went to run a system diagnostic to make sure eveything was running fine on her pc... and sure enough to my surprise a warning popped up saying she didn't have Direct X 10 installed!
I guess Warhammer didn't require directx...
I had updated her video card driver but the diagnostic said she needed Catalyst 9.2 (whatever that is) so I went to the ati website and updated that as well.
I tihnk Warhammer used DirectX 9 - very few games so far have been DX10 only. I am not sure if it has chanegd but this is because originally DX10 was Vista only and so few users in gaming actually upgraded to Vista so it was not worth it to developers to make DX10 only games.

It now runs like a dream.
I'm glad it worked for you. It's good to see a happy end to one of the many bad stories around here of FPS issues. I will try the direct x diag and see if that helps. Most of us though have seemingly tried everything under the sun to solve this issues without any luck. But here is the link to Champions own site stating they dont use direct x 10 anyway so I doubt that it will help me http://champions-online.com/faq#16
