Also, Queuing targets would be helpful. I.E. I am fighting target 1, and click on target 2. When target 1 dies, I automatically switch to target 2 and keep auto attacking.
I remember Anarchy Online having a feature like that, and it made life so much easier!
As a healer and a tank, I make quite a lot of use of several levels of target derivation when they're available. Tanks typically only need target of target, but as a healer, target of target of target is actually invaluable, because you not only know the status of the tank and the mob, but you also know whether the mob is targetting the tank. If it's not, guess what, the tank's not the one about to need heals. Please, give us the proper tools to do our jobs, UI design isn't a substitute for encounter design and game balance.

I'd like to visually have the target of my target show up to the right of them like WoW and even CoH shows a green targeting box around who your target has targeted... I would actually like to see a seperate target window to the right of what i have targeted if they target something else...

I've been using this for a while, and my observation is that instead, your target is switched to Swinger and then your power applies as normal. I'm not sure if that always happens, or only under certain conditions, things are usually a bit hectic when I'm doing this.
This isn't really ideal behaviour. It means you don't notice or track changes in their target.

To clear up any confusion, Hemoglobin nailed exactly what the purpose of target of target is for me.
Assisting is, as we already know, in game, and while a target of target can be used to assist (which you already can by selecting someone in your party frame as the dev pointed out), it's intended purpose I had in mind specifically was for two functions:
1)Tanking. Using the feet positioning as an aggro guide fighting the Mega Destroid at the end of Dr. Destroyer's Lab is just... wacky. Knowing what mobs are targeting as a tank cycles targets makes our job easier in aiding our role to keep our fellow players alive.
2)Healers have another reference to see if damage being caused to a team is caused by splash damage from an ability, or if they need to change their healing target and preemptively heal because that CRA-A-A-A-AA-AZY dex/ego shooter guy just *had* to go crazy before threat was established, and can be see who is going to need heals before 'forgets' to block due to the blood lust.
Now, a lot of people, primarily DPS focused players I've found, may not consider using such tools in an MMO to be important. Which is completely fair, I suppose.
I can also assure you that there are people who would have use for such tools in this game. You never know. You might have a better grouping experience because of it.

You have big damage powers that use lots of end and small damage powers that use little end. It would really be helpful to know what powers to apply when I am assisting. Wasting all your power on a half dead minion is always frustrating and leads to wipes that could have been prevented.
A "Target of target" frame is important for DPS, too. Fighting a huge boss while in Avenger role and an Offensive Passive on is dangerous! Without a frame showing who his current target is, it's easy to get melted before you have time to slap your Smoke Bomb or other defensive clicky key. Sometimes the facing of the foe's model just doesn't work well enough.

Been playing around with this feature in PvE and PvP. It seems that when my target changes his or her target I am losing the target of target. I notice this a lot in PvP. Not sure if this is by design. Do you loose target of target if you are no longer in line of sight or you are too far away?

found this one out in the Beta event when I kept trying to heal myself and would get out of range, as it was trying to heal the target of my target. Actually found it very annoying although from a healers point of view this is handy.
There are strategic reasons to want to SEE who the enemy is targeting, not just cast a heal or auto assist. These are good features, but NOT a replacement to a targeting HUD. It is important to add this feature. Please pass that along to the dev team.

Much needed feature. I hate dying because Ive pulled aggro and never known becasue I don't know if the damage I'm taking is from an AoE, a random targetted atatck, another mob or what.

In fact, it's in ALL TO WELL, I can't get rid of this effect in order to cast a heal on a team mate, my target automatically jumps to his target when I don't want it to. And yes, I checked my option settings to make sure that feature is showing as OFF, yet it simply ignores my setting preference.
Quite literally, to put this as plainly as possible: I CANNOT create any sort of team support character or even a character who takes a power that is usable on team mates because the game will not let me target my team mates because my target will auto jump to their targeted foe.

That's target assist. Target of target is selecting a friend/foe and seeing who THEY are currently targeting. With how wonky aggro is in this game, and the fact that most enemies can nail you without even turning, target of target is badly needed to give DPS/squishes time to properly react.
A true Target-of-Target system has another UI Frame specifically for showing your target's target, that's displayed at all times. The feature could be turned on/off in the Options, of course.
