How to connect an XBOX 360 controller?

Can someone please help I dont know how to connect my XBOX360 controller. I have the wireless controller and the charge USB connection kit. i hooked it up to the computer installed the drivers but still nothing. Can someone help me to find out what I need to do to hook up my controller?

    As far as I know you can't use that combo.

    The USB charge kit does just that, charges the device with power. It still only talks to the xbox.

    You would need a wireless receiver that plugs into the computer to make that work or else get a wired 360 controller.

    Jure is 100% correct. The charge cable does not have data stream inside it. its only a charge cable.

    See the previous thread on this topic. You have to get the wireless receiver for windors or get the wired PC version of the controller (hardwired,not wireless). The USB port on the 360 controller is for charging only and does not send any signals to the computer.
