I've preordered Champions Online, and I have already input the code I got from my purchase. I should be able to take part in the Early Preview things, correct?
The client will not load for me. I cannot get in at all. I was able to get in just fine for the Open Beta, but ever since that ended, my client has not loaded properly.
Most of the time what happens is I will see the initial loading screens: Cryptic, Atari, and then the CO ape picture. Then the client will freeze and ultimately drop me out to the Cryptic error reporter. I then type a short report.
Earlier today my client patched to version -- sorry, I was going to get the version for you, but the launcher doesn't display it long enough for me to copy it down. After that I got in to the dialog box that asks you to choose what key control style you want to use, and it froze after that.
I've checked your website, and according to it I should be able to play SOMEthing. At least the client should be quitting gracefully, telling me it isn't time yet. But when I restart the client after these freezes I am prompted to verify my files.
To recap:
- during Open Beta my client worked fine.
- now I cannot get into Champions Online at all.
I've attached a DxDiag file I just created, in case that might help. If you need anything else, please let me know. Well, I can't attach it because of file size restrictions. But if you want it, let me know and I'll get it to you.
I'm haveing the same issues, right after the flaming ape i see the buttons on the right of the screen pop up and I crash to desktop.
I managed to get on yesterday after i had tried it a few times and i thought it had been resolved but today it is the same as before.
I had no issues with this during beta, what is going on?
Edit: After reading another thread it seems I have found my problem. X-fire was crashing me, after i shut it down there were no problems getting in anymore.
you're right, that did it ... quitting xfire allows me to run Champions.
Interesting ... I've never had a problem with xfire before. IN fact, during the Open Beta I was not able to run raptr, which they bundled with the CO download.
I've been getting the same exact issue, and closing X-fire before restarting CO doesn't fix it. Get to the Cryptic, Atari, and then CO screen, and dump to desktop with the error report popping up.
bummer. I wish I knew what to tell you, cos quitting xfire for me worked great.
You might want to quit ALL programs and extensions before starting CO, cos it doesn't seem to properly play nice nice in its own memory space. If it did, then you could run xfire and whatnot; it wouldn't matter.

Where was this other thread you read?
Up until now I have NEVER had a problem with xfire, not even for this program in open beta. Hmm.

I hope this is fixed soon.
