Several players, including myself are experiencing extreme amounts of lag, making the game unplayable. We all know it's not a problem with our pc's or anything, and in fact the problem lies with your server. Beta was fine, and now the game has this lag. And no matter how you claim it is fixed, it isn't.

I found i could play from midnight onwards fine, didnt suffer from any lag. But personally I dont want or should have to limit myself to nocturnal playing hours just because your server is ****.

So I find myself in a quandry. Basically if this issue is not sorted out by the time i get the retail game delivered, I will be returning it for a refund and never playing champions online again, and seriously be doubting any other cryptic games in the future.
I start to question what you were doing in beta, that was supposed to test server stability etc. What went wrong? City of heroes never had these extreme problems.

So please can someone with a clue, reply to this and tell me whats going on, and if/when it will be resolved. If your server isnt up to the task and lacking that power, or is sheerly overloaded, then why not get another one going to relieve the strain?? (a proper dev reply would be most appreciated)

Having the same problem here, I got this on day 2 of the preorder beta (you know, the day after the failed patcher) but we were all told you were not expecting the numbers you got on that day. Fine.

This time you are not going to be able to use that excuse, you have exact figures for how many people have preordered so you know what's going to be happening.

What's even more infuriating is that it was fine for the first day of the head start so I went and ordered a 6 month sub and now I'm stabbed in the back and laughed at.

If the game wasnt ready, why did you set a release date?

I have the same problem when its busy i get 2-3 minute delay the game is fine in the daytime ( GMT) but as soon as it gets busy game is unplayable my pc is easily capable of playing this game it is definitely a network problem. I have played mmo's for years in europe and usa and never had any real issues.

Before they wiped the boards clean, there was a thread on this issue with a lot of people contributing information. I thought they were narrowing down the issue and would love to hear if any progress was made.

When I started Beta there was absolutely no lag. After the first patch the game became unplayable. Just before early release the lag cleared up...and then upon release the lag returned. I'm not sure it this is a patching, ISP, or compatibility issue but some response would be great.

yeah, there was a dev post about it before the boards got wiped, but I too would like to know if they are still trying to get to the problem, I am experiencing some major major rubber banding during the peak time, during late night I don't have any problems, but i've played WoW, AoC, Warhammer Online, none of them lagged at all, I could be in the most populated zones in those games and never have a problem.

    Quit! Quit! Quit!

Seriously though, where are you experiancing this lag?

I've found recently that these "lag pockets" have been turning up recently. Area's which I can;t enter if I want to move again, the PH in canada is a good example.

Or is this just general all-round lag we're talking about? Have you tried forwarding your ports?

All around lag, takes about 5 minutes to log into my character and then 5 days to move afterwards. Doesnt matter where the character is or what shard I attempt to move to.
