This may be the shadiest, and underhanded pre-ordering I have ever seen in the industry. In all my years I never knew one pre-order to be better than another. Yes sometimes you might get a different in game item but they all were equals. Cryptic Studios has decided that not all pre-order customers are equal. Which I find odd considering we all paid the same amount. Yet, Cryptic, in all they're glory has found that Wal-mart and Gamestop are a more rewarded outlet and grant early access while D2D and others are not. This is bothersome for me in the fact that I now know this game has been sold out to these companies, to hopefully increase their profits. So Cryptic gets a little money thrown at them for not giving Early Access to these other Valid Vendors. Now that this has occured it has made me come to a eye opening experince. The truth is this game is nothing more than a prettier COX. Their really isn't anything of substance to divide the two games. Not even a more in-depth and more customizable costume maker. Which frankly is sad. The boy at cryptic should have took a look at A.P.B. or any number of other mmos in development. While it may not be "Superhero," themed it sure does greatly improve on the concept of custimization in an mmo. To you Cryptic Studios I say Bahumbug. You have failed to bring anything minorly earth shatteringly new like you promised. and nothing will end this game quicker than your choices with the pre-orders.
Thank you for trying to prove yourself,
Kaemin

You've never known 1 pre order better than another? Ever?

Sure, most early starts are for all customers who preorder the game, but that being said, all you had to do was look online either here in the forums/website or wherever you purchased your game at and read what comes with it. Cryptic/Atari made a business decision to help promote their game with Best Buy and Gamestop, to give those companies something special that would benefit both Cryptic and the Retailer, that is why they got access to the early start.

Just because you didn't bother to do any research and just click buy, don't fault the company because of your own hindsight. It's a shame that everyone dosn't get early access, but that's no ones fault but the buyers.

As far as brining anything EARTH SHATTERING new to the game, you're prob right, I wouldn't say that they have done anything major that's different then what is already out there, but I think they are stepping in the right direction in some areas.

Plus anyway, go back to my previous statement......do some more research next time on the game you want to buy.....before you buy it. If your not happy with it, then don't buy it, no one forces you to do so.

    .

I actually did research and the only place I found the explaination was a user thread on the 26th, two days before the head start. I had already odered the game through Amazon and was out of luck.

I have to agree wit hthe comments from the previous post, this was a bad decision, and a marketing fiasco. I cancelled my pre-order today and so has all of my friends.

The worst part so far is the unwillingness of the company to give a statement on the site, and the deletion of the posts on the forum from those people dissatisfied.

    Unprofessional.

The worst part is, I loved playing in the Beta and could not wait to play in the Head start this weekend. I even left work early Friday only to find that I, like so many others were not allowed to play.

I had a 3 paragraph response to this, but all you'll do is keep whining.
I guess classless freeform super MMO games are too awesome for you.
    See you never.

Do you post on every single major console game's message board crying about the pre-order bonuses you can only get at Gamestop for them too? You are making a mountain out of something that doesn't even register as a molehill. Sorry you didn't look over the pre-order options before making your choice.

Way to cry. The official website and forums along with all the vendors websites clearly state what you get for preordering. They didn't try to hide the fact that the head start was only with certain stores. It sounds like your just crying because you didn't do your home work before preordering.

The game doesn't do much new, but at least what it does do is done right in a good package and the game has a great atmosphere. The game is made by the people who made CoX and this game is also super hero themed, what the hell were you expecting?

I'm also trying not to laugh at the fact you think this game will fail solely due to the preorders. If this game does fail it will have nothing to do with that.

This is a standard thing when it comes to MMO pre-orders.

Wipe your tears and get over it. You'll be able to play on Tuesday.

Anyone who will actually ragequit over something like this really needs to grow up.

I agree it would of been great if everyone got the headstart who pre-ordered, but the only thing that prevented any of us from getting into the headstart is that we didn't buy it from the right local. Maybe Cryptic could of advertised this a bit better, we know there has been a few issues with transparency, but still whatever reason Cryptic made to give those companies exclusivity (better advertising, more money...ect ect), all we had to do is do our homework before we bought the game.

Anyway....see you all on release day =P
