I'm sure many have done this, but there were new drivers about a week ago and I updated mine this morning. It seemed to help noticeably; I would estimate 15 fps or so. I can't get my fps to show continually or I would post specifics.

Disabling Postprocessing makes a big difference for me, probably 30 fps. I don't mind the look of it off, but then certain effects such as the radiation glow in the Project Greenskin starting area shows through the ground and looks pretty much 8-bit as well. Plus, the black/white effect in Teleporting is switched off, and...well, that's just too cool to give up.

Other effects such as texture seem to have a pretty limited effect on performance, whether they are 100% or maxed out.

I don't know if there was a patch or if it's just the newer drivers, but today I'm noticing a smoother framerate, even when traveling. Not perfect and not what I think it should be, but noticeable improvement.

My rig:
8800gt 512
Athlon X2 dual-core 4200 (2.21)
4GB RAM
WinXP

As for me I have a GeForce 285 GTX and the set of drivers from 8/21 caused either display driver failures or a blue screen of death. Even after rolling back to older drivers it still hangs in the character creator pegging CPU utilization to 70% and locking up the game. Still no idea how to fix this.

The last two or so sets of Nvidia drivers have been having crashing issues, I get them, a friend gets them, and so on.

Newest set is a little better than the last - but as to the character creator problem, doesent sound like a graphics driver issue, have you tried other games? i.e. do they work ok?

Something else is wrong then. I also have a GTX 275, with 190.62 (And there is no 190.92). Great boost performance compared to the latest 185s.

Also, for others, make sure you have Champions online as a profile. Just go to Nvidia Control Panel (Right click desktop), then go to Manage 3d settings. If it is not there, you may have to switch to advanced view. Do so by going to view and selecting advanced view. In Manage 3d Settings, go to program settings tab and click add. Now browse to the gameclient.exe of Champions. One important setting you MUST have on champions is "Threaded Optimization", which is the 3rd last on the scroll list. It must be OFF. Power management mode must also be "Prefer Maximum performance", otherwise it'll try to save energy and downclock.

Thank you, I'll try champions online now and see if I get anymore crashes.

Where can I find Power Management options? I don't seem to see it on the list of program management settings...

You must have 190 drivers to see it. if you have something older, it won't show. Also some cards may not have this option. It's default as Adaptive, by the way.

I dont like the current driver update, the August 21th one, i installed it and restarted my computer, my monitor would turn off, power button would go from green to orange, i entered in safe mode and did a system restore, my computer worked fine again, the driver update just doesn't work for me. ._.

updated drivers bogged my system down, took me about 7 drivers to find ones that ran champions without that constant lag.
