pleas help, comp has NO picture

downloaded the latest nvidia graphics driver from their site, looked on my comp specs and chose the available graphic card from the list. when done i tried to install it, during the installation comp goes blank, waited for atleast 15 minutes, thought it was just going through the process, but now its completely blank, tried restarting the computer but no luck still same result, no pictures showing, how do you do a full system recovery with no picture?:(

my pc is customize, specs are:
intel i7 965 extreme 3.20 ghz
nvidia geforce 295 gtx
windows vista sp2 64bit

any help would be awesome, thanks

When you say 'it's completely black' do you mean you get no signal at all to the monitor? Do you see the bios start up screen and then it goes black? Have you tried turning it off at the surge protector and/or unplugging it? Did you try shutting the system off, switching the port the DVI cable is on, and starting up after? Do you have another graphics card to try removing the GTX 295 and seeing if another one works?

A driver change is extremely unlikely to cause this. It sounds more like pure cooinsidence and that your monitor is having trouble (or your graphics card died.)
