Going back to 1st desert zone after entering 2nd

Is it at all possible to do this? I did the vault mission and was obviously put into the 2nd desert zone and i never completed the Ferd mission in the 1st desert zone. So is there a way to go back and complete it?

    Sorry, but no. Once you have completed either the desert crisis or Canada crisis you can't go back to either one.
