Dropping a crafting skill

I noticed in game that it said I could change my specialization and not lose my recipes, but my skill would be reset to 1. I am Science, so does this mean I could level up to max with Mutations and get all of those recipes, then switch to Inventions and retain all my old recipes? Can I still use them? Can they not be used until I reach the appropriate level again? Could I essentially get ALL of the science recipes from all 3 specializations?

What about switching from say Science to Mysticism, would I lose all my science recipes then?

I'm a completionist and a bit crazy, so I would consider leveling up multiple times if I can have all the recipes. ;)

If you stick to your main Skill, you'll keep the blueprints and be able to craft them once you get enough skill.

If you switch main Skill, you'll keep the blueprints, but you won't be able to craft them unless you switch back and raise your skill to the minimum level needed.

Cool. Followup question... if I switch from Mutations to Inventions, and then back to Mutations would I be at skill level 1 or does it pick up where it left off?

Skill 1, you use the same skill level for the specializations, it just gets reset whenever you switch.
