I have a strange issue that I have been unable to find any information on. I have Champions Online on my computer and I have tried to run the open Beta and now the Head-Start weekend. When I start the launcher, it will allow me to login and patch the game, but then the launcher closes (process stops) and there is no error or error in my event log.
When I try launching the ..\Champions Online\Livegameclient.exe I can enter my login information, but then it sits at the "Connecting to account server" screen and eventually will time out.
I have a laptop that is running WIndows 7 and I have no issues on it. I have set my desktop to be the DMZ on my linksys router, so I do not believe this is a port issue. If anyone has any ideas, I would greatly welcome any help.

Who is your ISP, and have you set the game to run admin also check firewall , anti-virus. indication is something is blocking the program access to the server.
Without more information hard to say but should contact support.
I have DSL though the company I work for. No blocks there. My antivirus on the PC is AVG Free. I have administrator rights on the xp machine. It does seems like something is blocking the program, but the strange issue is when I hit play on the launcher, it just disappears and the process (either the launcher or the game client) is no longer running.
One thing the launcher requires the font Veranda regular to be installed on the PC. If the font is missing or corrupted it can cause the launcher to crash.
Hard to say. Nighteyes
Need to see more of the log entries also you could try a repair if it is missing game file , that should fix it. The font file I mention is a windows font. and not packaged with the game.
if repair doesnot help call support.
Looks like I spoke too soon. I played for about 8 hrs, then shut down my computer. When I started it back up, I had the same issue again. This is very frustrating, to say the least.
I have attached my 4 log files for anyone else to see if their issues match up with mine.
Well, after the more recent round of patching, it looks like this is resolved for me again. I hope this doesn't happen again, but it does, I'll try to come back update this thread with all the relevant information.

I'm having the same problem. Who has a solution? I didn't even think about the AV/firewall blocking the program. I'll check into that.
Well, looks like I spoke too soon. This issue is back again. I have attached my log files. I really wish there was something that would point to an issue or a dev stating somewhere some troubleshooting or additional information we can provide. Being left in the dark on this is very frustrating, to say the least.
I use a program called Child Control 2007 to set timers and content monitoring for my children. Even though it was not set to block anything I did on my profile, it was still interfering with something. I had it stop monitoring and closed the process (webtmr.exe) and everything works now!

I looked for a file called "SWMWindowPosList" - but couldn't fine one. Is that the problem... a missing file?

I don't know what changed, but it's nice to be able to play this at full details!

So this looks to be a file access issue.
