Brightness Issues

It seems as if once in game the exposer / brightness is too high. The whites are all blown out. If you create a character with a pale face, their faces end up over exposed and washed out. In general any character you create looks much hotter in game than in the creation section.

I agree. That said, I would try adjusting your 'Bloom'

I know that doesn't solve the issue of how others see your character. Perhaps a better suggestion is for Cryptic do add the Bloom effect to the character creator. Or to adjust everyone's default bloom settings.

Then again, all of my characters look better in-game to me so..... we need more forums members to reply to this topic.

Personally I hate bloom. Something about all that defused glow everywhere that drives me up a wall. Its one of the first options I will kill in any game right next to that annoying 'film grain' some games use.

It wasnt so much the glow effect that sucked...it was that every light color is TOTALLY blown out. You simply cannot see any shadows in a white cape.

I loved the dreamy 'Bloom' effect in Lord of the Rings Online, but in Champs? Not so much... I have it set to low personally.

Press Esc and go into options, from there click on video. There should be a check box for advanced options which opens up a lot of choices.

You want bloom? The room with the General in White Out. Turn up your bloom, but bring sunglasses.

I tried turning up the brightness, but the NPCs are still pretty stupid...

The problem isn't brightness, it's saturation. The colours are too intense for many peoples liking. I suggested adding a saturation slider to video options. If you want to see what kind of difference it makes try taking a screenshot and pasting it into Irfranview. then go to image, select colour corrections and set the saturation to about -100 or -110 and apply. you see what a difference it makes.

Hi everybody, I'm sorry to put here my question but it seems I'm not allowed to open new threads and global chat is still forbidden to me ingame and this topic sounded pretty like my issue and <many other good reasons>.

I've just started to play CO and I'm getting an annoying visual bug:

    during the Character selection:
<normal and correct brightness and saturation over my character>
    1zefuiu_th.jpg

    In game
<much more bright or satured or whatever, different and pretty bad>

do you guys know if I could do anything to fix this problem? Thank you in advantage

Graphics are put to max while in the tailor by default as is the character selection. In game graphics usually put these settings low for me too no matter how high I increase all the graphic settings.
