I have a question regarding the chat box... I was wondering if there's a way to split it off into a second box, so I can have another smaller box off on the other side of the screen?
I've been toying around with the chat box options but haven't yet found a way to do this, so I'm not sure if it's even possible or not. But I thought I'd ask...
During Beta I asked that this functionality be implemented. Of all the areas of the game's development, I honestly feel as if the chat window functionality and UI customization functionality are the least polished bits so far. I expect there to be a number of changes quite soon in relation to this.
For instance: If you press f12 to access the UI editor mode, you can move items around, and you can get a "resize arrow" for many of them, but once you exit the edit mode you will notice that some things (power tray most noticably) simply did not change in size. While this is not, in any way, gamebreaking, it is pretty annoying. I have a lot of "real estate" on my screen, and I like to make efficient use of it. I don't really need my power tray to be as large as it is by default, and sliding the global UI scale down should not be required of me to get certain items to the size I want them.
At this time you cannot split the chat tabs into different windows. It has been asked for many times and I believe is on their list of things to do.
As far as making mods, the current UI is a work in progress. Way back in beta Cryptic said that they would be making mods possible. I haven't heard anything about that recently though so they may have changed their mind. Hopefully, once they get the UI nailed down to how they like it, they'll open it up to us modders.

Again, minor nits, but nits nonetheless.
If I make my power tray tall yet skinny, I should be able to line up the powers along the side of the window instead of the bottom.

Most likely not going to be allowed as they have to be cross platform with console version soon(tm) to be out.
