Stuck in loading screen when launching

For the last few updates, this loading screen has taken longer and longer to spin, and I often give up after a couple minutes or so. I am launching the game from steam and directly. Any idea what could cause this?

This has been happening to me recently too, and the only way to fix it is to close the launcher from the task manager
