(Two Builds) Western Cowboy Build & Tech Specialist Build

Hi

So got two new builds I want checking over to make sure they are all fine and or need changing, both builds are similar in contrast but use different power sets but the theme/role of the build are the same.

Western Cowboy:

So this build is very similar to the Gunslinger Build with the exception well, not being a Gunslinger (Pistols) and focusing on a Assault Rifle (Winchester Rifle) while still keeping minor Pistols (since they are unavoidable) but the main focus of the build is the primarily use of the AR.

SS/Specs & Tals are unchanged from the Gunslinger Build (I chuold go for Dex-PSS if it's any better or needed for more DPS, since Ego Mas gives 20+flat, either way, either way)

Burst Shot is gonna be my main way of applying AP & Triggering Furious (Since it applys 1 stack/Shoot 3 times = 3 stacks, I think?). While I could go for BH or SMG, the main focus is AR in this case.

CF/KI/FE & Convi are all placed in for my AD/Form/EU & Heal, I have Incendiary Grenade for both it's Advs to apply even more Debuffs & TC Passive for the higher DPS.

The last powers I'm not too sure on yet.

Tech Specialist:

So likewise to the build above this build has a main focus of the use of APB while still keeping other Gadt-powers builds, however this build has bit more freedom in it's powers as long as they relate to the Gadt-Set.

SS/Specs/Tels are a copy and paste from the other build and same for the AD/EU/Passive with differ Heal.

PBR will be my main source of attacking, while CB is to Apply the Debuff, CG for the Stun/AoE and SBG for my main AoE, SR is just for flair and some support, but doesn't have to be in the build.

Let me know what needs to be changed or added, don't shy from putting in a power if it helps the build, even if it not fits the Theme too well, if you got another power that applys Furious from another Tree or should I use SMG or put in a better power, etc (Or Mind Control), then go ahead and put it in, I'll try to work around it.

For the 1st build: Burst Shot's Furious adv does refresh Furious stacks, but it alone cannot give you more than one stack of Furious. For 3x Furious, you'll prob have to build it up w/ Bullet Hail, SMG Burst, or Rocket's adv first (the build lacks a decent spam-able AoE atm anyways, so maybe go w/ SMG or Bullet Hail). Ofc, you can also forgo Furious and just use R3 AR, which is easier to execute, though it will be lower sustained dmg in longer fights. I also don't think Incendiary Grenade is really worth the power slot and adv points in the AR build, since it won't debuff for the other attacks (but you could keep it in if you like it for the theme enough). Shotgun Blast is another alternative to Burst Shot (can't apply Furious, but can refresh Furious and apply/refresh the AP debuff w/ its advs).

The PBR build is a bit better, imo (w/ the caveat that Shield Restoration isn't that strong, but you already seem to know that). It seems a bit redundant to have both Exp Burst Ray and Sonic Boom Gen- I'd prob just use the latter for AoE and drop the former. PBR is pretty cheap atm, such that you prob don't need Overdrive for it. SBG is more costly, though, so perhaps you could switch to Laser Sword's Unified Theory EU (taps of Chest Beam can proc it), since that scales w/ End anyways. Speaking of Chest Beam, you may want to just get R2 over its special adv (or just leave it un-ranked, if you're only going to be tapping it). If switching to Unified Theory, then I may also grab Particle Wave in Laser Sword (instead of the Burst Ray), since it can also proc the EU in AoE (w/o having to use Chest Beam then) and help group up mobs for SBG and the grenade.

I would normally just use Guardicator specs for such ranged builds, but Avenger is a decent alternative for ranged builds using maintains, and if you want to try something different. Dex PSS would prob be a bit more optimal dps in longer fights, but not by that much, since Ego PSS is quite strong on its own, and is a bit more versatile (assuming an Ego-focus for both builds atm).

Thought so, I'll work with useing AR & BH together in the build, as I rather not forgo-Furious, I'll grab Shotgun/w its Adv as well for AP on top of Frail Armor debuff, while IG isn't too great I think the debuffs overall will still be nice, so I may keep it in the build or opt out of it. (Really wish they didn't move AR down to 5 Tier, but oh well)

Last power I have no clue on but I'll think of something.

For the 1st build's edit, I may get the dmg shield adv on Bullet Hail (or just get it to R3), and instead get the Breaching Round adv on Shotgun so it can handle both the Furious refresh and the AP debuff. Most of the rest of the build looks fine, though if you need to free up some adv points then I may first take them out of Incendiary Grenade.
So here are the changes to the 2nd build:

I've removed SBG since it was redundant to have both & I replaced SR with Particle Wave/w it's adv for the extra Heal & Debuff, I've also gone for Bad Sector for another Debuff & the Shield, this should be plenty to trigger: Unified Theory. (I chuold go for Particle Smash if I didn't want the Pull but Particle Smash is melee only)

I got a cup of Advs to spend, but no idea where I should put them (...)

Okay, I would normally keep SBG over Exp Burst Ray for AoE, since the latter has a pretty narrow cone, but you can somewhat counteract Burst Ray's narrower AoE by pairing it w/ Particle Wave first. So that setup can still work out fine. Keep in mind that Burst Ray will Overcharge if charged for more than 1.5 sec, and that can lead to it Overheating and being unusable. Its special adv can help reduce the overheat chance, and/or you can just use half-charges of it and avoid the Overcharge/heat mechanic.

It's not really needed, but Particle Smash can be okay here too- it may be melee, but you can hop w/in its 25ft range to still use it on trash that you're pulling in w/ Particle Wave anyways, at least (prob isn't worth the hassle for single-targets, though, when you can instead keep at range w/ PBR). I think you already have enough extra AoE powers here, and that's prob why I would pass on Particle Smash atm, but it's up to you. The extra adv points you have here could be added back to Chest Beam or to Particle Wave perhaps, and maybe to one rank in the other travel power.

Hm, looking at the build without removing a later power in the list, there isn't a feeble way in getting SBG over Exp Burst Ray for AoE but I can work around with counteracting it w/ Particle Wave first as you said.

So here is that final build: I added the adv back into Chest Beam, since (most) mobs will be knocked to me by Particle Wave and about Particle Smash, I was thinking on replace Wave w/ Smash to avoid the Knock-to but Wave seems to be a much stronger choice here.

Yea, it's typically better to lump enemies together, so more types of AoE can hit them all, and this is why powers like Particle Wave can be pretty handy. Also, you can still get SBG over Burst Ray if you take Concentration as the toggle/form early on (2nd or 3rd power). As long as your main stat is still Ego, then it can work for either Chilled Form or Concentration (it's only an issue if you make Dex your focus stat instead, since Conc doesn't scale w/ that). Ofc, that's just one option, though, as you could stick to trying out the Particle Wave + Burst Ray combo. Particle Smash could also replace the grenade here, but the grenade can still stun in an AoE, so it's up to you on what you'd like to have.

For the AR build, I'd prob keep R2 on Bullet Hail, since it's still the main AoE for the build, and R2 also slightly boosts its Furious chance. Whether you want the nice dmg shield of WoB or the higher dmg & Furious chance of R3 on it is up to you, though.

Yup, gonna stick with the Particle Wave + Burst Ray combo, see how it plays out for me, should do decently well, since I'll be lumpin enemies together.

As for R2 in Bullet Hail, will do, thanks again for the help o7
