So, messing around lately with commands and expensive purchases for the sake both of aesthetic and performance, and I came to one very simple, disappointing realization: Therakiel's Dissonance doesn't inherit weapon auras and doesn't properly use the coloration of the Heavy Weapon it's inheriting from, either. It results in something like this when used:
Seen left: a power-canceled Cleave/Brilliant Cleave attack / Seen right: a power-canceled Therakiel's Dissonance attack
And this got me thinking... admittedly, on the same thing that
countless people have already asked for.
Namely:
where's our Therakiel stance?
Now, I know, I know, "new passive stances would be entirely unreasonable to have added to the game, they'd take too much fighting of the spaghetti code," but come on. We've since had Weapon Display devices added to the game, as well as Broomstick Flight, have we not? If you ask me, those are
exactly where you could fit something like this in. And so I present to you the following suggestions as just a
few possibilities out of many:
Option one:[Weapon Display: Therakiel's Presence] a
Unique drop from Therakiel's Rampage.
Bind on equip.
This one's simple enough. As a Weapon Display device, (annoyingly) it won't use any Weapon Auras, but it would throw the user into Therakiel's idle animation while toggled on, would
not give flight, would not be usable while a Travel Power is active, so on and so forth. If used without a Heavy Weapons skin, it won't use Therakiel's Blade, and will instead simply default to the stock Heavy Weapon skin and colorations. As a Weapon Display Device, while in use the user could still move around, and would appear to be gliding along the ground in much the same way Therakiel flies, though, again, would not
actually be able to fly with it.
Option two:[Divine Presence Emote] a
Rare drop from Therakiel's Rampage. Collecting ten awards the title "Divinity Resplendent" and unlocks the emote account-wide.
Bind/consume on equip.[Divine Judgement Emote] a
Rare drop from Therakiel's Rampage. Collecting ten awards the title "Wrathful God" and unlocks the emote account-wide.
Bind/consume on equip.
These two would go hand in hand as emotes capable of being used while a travel power is active, including flight. Obviously, as emotes, moving would cancel either one, unlike the prior suggestion of the Weapon Display Device. But, there's two here, you might say! What's the catch? Well, "Divine Presence" would throw the user into Therakiel's idle stance empty-handed. "Divine Judgement" would throw the user into Therakiel's idle stance with a Heavy Weapon skin out, either their own if they have one, or the default one if they do not,
with any equipped (and relevant: Right/Single) weapon auras active.Option three:[Flight of the Host] a
Legendary drop from Therakiel's Temple.
Bind on equip.[Flight of the Nephilim] a
Legendary drop from Therakiel's Temple.
Bind on equip.[Host Flight Unlock] a
Cosmic drop from Therakiel's Temple.
Bind/consume on equip.[Nephilim Flight Unlock] a
Cosmic drop from Therakiel's Temple.
Bind/consume on equip.
These are R3-TP-device and TP-unlock expys of the Divine Presence and Divine Judgement emotes mentioned above. Flight of the Host (a TP Device) and Host Flight (the account-wide-unlock TP itself) both throw the user into a flight using Therakiel's idle flying+moving animations but without anything in their hands (unless power-canceled there, but that's not a concern of the power or device now is it?) while Flight of the Nephilim and Nephilim Flight in turn throw their users into Therakiel's idle flying+moving animations while holding a Heavy Weapon (either their own HW skin if they have one, or the default HW skin if they do not,)
with any equipped (and relevant: Right/Single) weapon auras active. These would not act as power-lockout TPs, unlike TPs such as Broomstick Flight, Bat Flight or Wild Speed, and attacking with any power would just result in... using that power along with the appropriate animation, and in the case of Flight of the Nephilim / Nephilim Flight, removing/replacing the Heavy Weapon where relevant.
These three suggestions (or groups of suggestions I suppose) are all meant to be
intentional alternatives to using commands in chat to attempt to transform one or two devices into emotes or passive stances that don't even work right for it in the first place. Any of them would be workable, though I'd envisioned all three as being viable at the same time, and the latter alone would be the most likely choice/addition for... obvious reasons. With that said, I'd also like to hear any ideas anyone else has for more, better or alternative sources of this highly-sought-after animation. And of the three presented by myself,
which, if any, is the most appealing option to you?
