Wild-Eye broken

To whom it may concern,
On Monster Island, Dr. Silverback gave me a mission called, "Wild-Eyed Escapee," where I had to defeat a giant Manimal named, "Wild-Eye."
Problem was...and I've seen two threads on the forum mentioning similar problems...Wild-Eye came across as invulnerable. None of my conventional attacks did the slightest bit of damage to him, and I'm using a Level 40 Tenebrous. It was only when I used a Psi-Storm Crystal on him that his invulnerability was SOMEHOW broken. And from that point forward, he could be attacked like any other enemy.
I just thought you'd like to know about this.

I ran into similar a very long time ago. I think when Wild-Eye was in combat with NPC manimals, he was invulnerably to my attacks. When he left combat, I could then engage him and do damage. At least that's how it seemed to work for me.
