Fighting Claws & Tech Build

Hey

So I've got another build that was leveled from 30 (Yes I cheated) for the Defender's National Training Program and like before this is another build that I've been meaning to use and this is another power tree set I never touched "Fighting Claws". However this is also a rather old concept build that I had in the past that didn't work quite well.

The main focus for this build is heavy use on Fighting Claws with a small mixture of Tech powers inside it, the theme behind this build (If interested) is a Interceptor type, one that goes in with Bladed Claws from a Powerful Exosuit and utilities small Gadgets Installed into the suit.

With that being said here is The Build:

Basic setup of all Bladed like builds with DEX/Con/Rec/End and Specs to go along with it. I was thinking to get "The Rush of Battle" for that extra healing of each kill, but I'm not sure how useful that is over what I have.

As noted the build is mainly a Fighting Claw build with the Combo & Single Target Damage, I've picked Unstoppable over WotW for the extra defense, I've also gone for Particle Smash for the AoE attack & Stun and went for "Howl" for the extra damage and rally like cry effect. I did go for Will o Wisp, but I am thinking to change this to Particle Wave as the Combo of useing that/w Particle Smash is stupidly strong for low mobs. (I was leveling Laser Sword to get my toon to 40 and the combo of them two powers did wonders)

Yea, the Wisp isn't adding much here, and I'd prob also drop Howl. Tiger's Bite can be very strong for dps, but it is also quite expensive to use heavily. I'd prob still include something like Dragon's Claws for Rush, so you can have extra energy for TB use, and even if you don't end up mainly using DC instead. I'd prob also take Brawler spec's Setup if you're alternating between VFangs and TB (and sometimes the Dragon attack for Rush). You may also want a charged melee AoE if you're using FotTiger (like SB's Scything Blade), since your charged melee attacks atm are all single-target. Another option to cover having both a charged AoE and Rush is w/ Dragon Kick (instead of DC), which could save a power slot:

I dropped PSmash's CC adv since you'd have Dragon Kick's AoE stun and Particle Wave already (and the heal adv is a bit weak for a dps). You also prob want to get some cost discount on gear here.

This is my current FC build. Stacks Dex. Take out the lunge and self rez and add tech flavor. Usually in the top 3 at cosmics.

Ah yes I forgot about Dragon Rush for such, I'll be adding that for sure, however I may change to FotT over FotTiger as that seems more reliable and I don't have to alter my specs. (Thinking DK may be better choice here over Dragon Claw, as DC feels like another Single Damage Power)

    Here is that edited build:

Dragon Rush added, FotT over FotTiger and dropped Howl for now (I may add it back for the Damage Buff, but not sure) I'm trying to find a device that does something similar but hard time finding one.

Specs gone back to what I had planned due to the Form change. I got a few Adv points to spare for whatever I desire.

Well, although FotTempest does allow you to use essentially any attack powers that you want, its proc condition is rng-based, whereas FotTiger's is reliable, even if it's much more strict on what works w/ it. Since you're also using Dragon Kick, you may want to go back to FotTiger for the reliability. But it's also possible that Rush can help smooth out the rng on FotTempest procs, and FotTempest can obv work w/ stuff like VFangs, PSmash, and the Ult, whereas FotTiger cannot. Up to you, but you may want to test it all out in the PH/PTS to see how energy is faring, regardless. I'd prob also get Dragon Kick to R2 here (or just get its 1-pt adv), and I'd still prob use Brawler's Setup for TB, either way.

Oh, alright so that is similar to the Form choice I had before with my Archery, less RNG based. I'll switch back to FotTiger then if that's the case, since two of my powers will proc it reliability.

Quick qeastion regarding Brawler's Setup, will Finishing Blow over The Glory of Battle be better here?, I'd assume that FB is for Boss Damage that are quite low, regardless I went back to the Brawler's Setup.

Flanking is the stronger of the options in Brawler's 2nd tier, since it can potentially boost all melee dmg, but it's mainly good when you're playing group content w/ someone else tanking mobs so that they face away from you. If you're mainly playing solo, then I'd prob just get Finishing Blow instead.

Alright thanks then, here is the build with the suggested changes (or rather back to what was suggested =) )

FotT and the Brawler's Specs. (I will try the GoB setup over Setup since I have two AoEs (I will change back if it not works out) I have also dropped PSmash, it's costly and I have a better AoE. Last power will likely be a Self-Rez or Howl, depending on what I wish to build for (Howl, while small in it's damage boost, I do like helping allies, no matter how small)

    Thanks again for the help

You def want Brawler's Setup here (potentially getting 20% more dmg on TB after setting up Shredded w/ VFangs is a big boost); Glory of Battle is kinda weak by comparison. Anyways, I'd prob pick the self-rez and rank up Dragon Kick, else the build looks okay.
