Champions Online won't launch properly please help

Greetings CO community, some of you might know me as Kzzrpl. I've been playing CO since march 1st 2011 , on nov 2020 I came back to play on a daily basis and on march of last year i began LTS ( lifetime subscriber, best choice ever btw). I made a new character on feb 2nd (this year) for the Defender National Training Program a.k.a DNTP event. I reached lvl 37 already with said character so if all goes as planned I should be able to hit max level before the event ends. However I'm experiencing quite the issue here. Yesterday I unistall and quickly re-installed CO due to an error msg showed to me by the launcher itself. Cryptic Error Report started soon after the aforementioned issue. When CER ended I click on STEAM to launch CO as usual and the game patched and worked properly. So I bielieved the problem was finally solved. I was wrong 'cause earlier today I tried to launch CO again and I got the same msg from yesterday ( cryptic game client and so on) Do I have to unistall and re-install CO once a day every day ? Or is there a way to solve this issue? I have a very bad DSL connection so it would take me few hrs to unistall and re-install the game once a day. I did so yesterday tho. Please and I mean PLEASE help me. These are hard adn rough times ( IRL ) as few of my in-game friends ( one of 'em I consider a really good freind and a wonderfull person . You know who you are , you truly do) already know. So please help me. I would like to come back to CO as soon as possible even this very day.

    I unistalled and re-installed Champions Online just yesterday so all the files should be there. Please help me.

    UPDATE

    I unistall CO from STEAM and removed all the CO files from my new laptop. I downloaded the good ol' ARC launcher. I'm gonna try to launch CO that way and see if something change.

    finished the downloading process. Patched 100%. Clicked onto the PLAY button and the CrypticError windows popped up again for the 5th time.

    the veryfing files process started and completed itsefl 100%. The PLAY button became clickalbe I hit it and the CrypticError windows re-appeared. Is currently submiting the report as I'm typin this post. Same error ticket as above. IDK how to solve this issue. PLEASE help.

    Heyas, quick test, hop into your launcher options and make sure on-demand patching is off.

    UPDATE on-demand patching is off. Another CER just finished, I will now try to re-launch CO and see if it works properly or not.

    2ND UPDATE

    Veryfing process took place, reached 100% completion and the PLAY button was ready to be clicked, so I clicked it.

    Few seconds later the launcher crashed once again, I got to be honest I was expecting that to happen at this point :) .

    So the issue is still there :(

    ( btw 30 mins ago the game launched, I was able to use my main character Kzzrpl and take part in a fun Forum Malvanum alert. The game CAN work properly on my laptop and it did so for almost 6 days in a row )

    Curious,
    • If you go to the Live folder for the game and run Gameclient.exe directly, does it continue to crash?
    • What happens if you try it again, but "run as administrator?"

    Sorry for late reply.

    @itsbrou#5396 yes it crashes again.

    The game ran smoothly for 2 weeks straight and just 5 mins ago it crashed once again
    ( my main character was fighting bad guys near the Stone's Lab for the Nighthawk event, the gathering evidences bit you know? )

    My OS is Windows 11
    I hope these infos might help.

    Cryptic Error Report is running while I'm here typing.

    It seemed that after the recent pathces ( the TPB one and the Nighthawk event) all the issues were gone .

    CO proved me wrong on that.

    I noticed one more thing : whenever the CER runs and/or the game crashes the brightness of my laptop "shines up to 11" is that supposed to happen? or not?

    PLEASE help me and TY so much for everything you've done so far ( @kaiserin#0958 ,the other devs, the GMs, whoever helped . TY all )

    UPDATES

    earlier today (march the 14th) Champions Online launched after a superquick verifyin process took place.
    I was able to play with my main character and even change character and play with a second one.
    So far so good.
    While I was walking around Ren Cen doing missions and what not, I talked with @scottinator666 and @ravynfallenstar both of 'em kindly helped me figuring out what to do next.
    So scottinator told me there might be a bug who prevent me for logon like "selfban" for ten days every few days
    (makes sense if one looks at the timing of all my previous posts on this very thread), ravyn suggested to use the report a bug feature and spoke to a GM about that.

    GM Zeon reach out to me, after my in-game ticket. He gave me few instructions on how to figure out exactly why I'm unable to logon.
    I followed his advices and I just sent him an e-mail in response to the one he sent me ( those e-mails are all related to the ticket reply)

    GM Zeon checked my account and told me there is no such thing as a ban nor report on it. So issues might be elsewhere.

    I'll keep y'all up to date as soon as new infos comes my way.

    more UPDATES

    I wrote this on the 18th march 2023 ( I got answer , so I'm going to post the whole thing here)


    Hello Senior GM Sailor Mu you told me to send a screeshot if the “unable to connect issue” showed up again.
    That didn’t happened but a new problem appeared.

    Yesterday (march the 17th) , due to me being happier than usual given that Champions Online is working as intened, I created a new charcter. I spent almost 30 mins ( 28 iirc) in the char creation menu to “tune” my future character’s own superhero costume.

    After that , before typing the name and click the “SKIP THE TUTORIAL” button I said to myself:
    maybe I can make his shoes a bit darker let’s choose a darker red.
    So I chosed a darker red and few seconds after my lapotop froze.
    I tried to leftclick and rightclcik with my mouse nothing happened, press every single button on the keyborad , again , zero reults.

    So I waited for the problem to solve itself .
    An hour later nothing changed.

    I looked up on the internet ( using my phone) what to do when an HP Victus Razen 5 like mine freezes.
    I followed the instructions step by step, the lapotop re-start itself, did few updates and pathces ( the whole process took about 7 mins) and is now working splendidily.

    It never ever happened before tho, not even with my old crappy PC.
    The freeze while creating a character I mean, that never happened before.
    I couldn’t take a screenshot due to my keyboard not registering the screeshot button being pressed.

    EVEN MORE UPDATES

    I wrote this few mins ago today ( march the 21st 2023)

    I’m going to write this as an update on the situation.
    I was able to play Champions Online for the last few days with no Issues at all.
    Until now.
    I played CO earlier today for few minutes no problems there, but lately ( literally 4 mins ago) I launched the ARC launcher, hitted the PLAY button and yet agin the game crashed.
    As I posted before ( in the past weeks) on the official Champions Online forums, the CER is currently running

    To be more specific.

    Please help me
    I just want to play the game

    both were supposed mail from me to Senior GM Sailor Mu, who should be the one solving all these problems I'm facing with CO
    as of late.

    I hope somebody will read all these posts of mine.

    march the 25th 2023 ( better be specific :astonished: )

    Today the game launched after ONLY 3 verify processes and two unrei (unistall and re-install = unrei . that means I completely unistalled and re-installed Champions Online 2 times today. )

    the 1st verify process took place as soon as I launched the ARC launcher , not even an update, it verified right away.
    Then the game crashed.

    So I unrei it , it patched to the very last patch.
    After that, another verify process begun.
    I waited, the verify process ended , appearently without any issue.
    So I clicked on the PLAY button.
    Guess what?
    CO crashed.

    So...for the , idk, 28th time this month? I unistalled and quickly re-installed this wonderfull MMO one more time.

    I hear you say :
    another verify process went on and then the game crashed.

    Wrong!
    By sheer luck and with the intervetion of mysterious alien forces the game actaully really launched. :open_mouth:

    Crazy right?

    I know I know.

    So I log onto Champions Online with my main character , good 'ol Kzzrpl and I reported the bug :smiley:


    ( Kzzrpl used to look like a Qularr so it's funny that he , a bugman, reported a bug. Enough with bad puns)


    I'm tryin to find some positivity in this.

    Still the issue itself persist and I would like to recieve help in solving the whole thing.

    Would be really amazing being able to play the very MMO who helped me overcome many problems IRL, so far.

    That said:

    yestarday ( march the 24th 2023)

    I came to conclusion that my new laptop isn't as powerfull as I initially believed. ( oh my, was I wrong on this bit)

    So I put it to the test.

    I installed two other MMOs ( I had 'em on my laptop already, I just did the test yeasterday) , one simpler than CO and a second one more complex.

    the 1st being AQ3D a.k.a Adventure Quest 3D.
    It runs super smoothly via STEAM ( while CO isn't runnin anymore there for me)
    but that's a given .
    I mean AQ3D runs on phones and its graphics are really simple 3D ones , compared to CO ofc.

    2nd MMO being GW2 ( Guild Wars 2) .
    Now
    this one, on my previous laptop, used to crash quite often even with all the grapichs sliders down to the minimum.

    I thought, maybe, my new lapotop had some malfunctioning properties hence why I did the test.

    Turned out GW2 runs so freaking well on the laptop I'm using rn , I was able to maximize EVERY SINGLE SLIDER ( graphics wise ofc) to the point where playing GW2 feels more like a cinematic hollywood CGI top quality interface experience in a fantasy world , rather than playing an MMO sitted in front of my desk.

    The rendition of light particles is something my mind could never dream of until I saw of amazingly well my graphic card can render them , yet this new laptop is fully capable of amazing things ( compared to the my old crappy ones)

    I have a DSL connection ( no fiber whatsoever here :anguished: ) so, with my old PC lots of web related activities ( googling something, playing an MMO, sendin an e-mail etc etc) were pretty slow.
    Now? Super fast.
    So my DSL wasn't the problem there.
    My old bad crappy laptop's lack of RAM and what not , these things combined were the actual problem.

    So, now that I have a more powerfull device at my disposal, I should be able to play CO without any issue? Am I right?

    I mean, simpler stuffs works on here ( AQ3D ) .
    Way more complex programs run splendidly aswell ( GW2) .
    I found out the DSL causes no slowdowns in any shape or form.
    All should be good. Right?

    Then...WHY?
    Why the MMO I really love to play isn't working as it should?

    Why is only CO that gaves me troubles?

    PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE ALL THESE ISSUES.
