Nightmare Generator range question

I'm a PA 100ft ranged dps, and I'm currently using Nightmare Generator and Cerebro-Stimulator to give my dps a little boost, but I've noticed that while the Larval Terror generated by Cerebro-Stimulator will spawn next to enemies I attack from up to 100ft away, the Stalking Horrow generated by Nightmare Generator simply spawns next to me, and then walks behind me unless there is only 49ft or less between myself and whatever I am attacking. I was just curious why this was a thing, it would sure be nice to be able to attack from as far away as possible and have both my summons able to attack. I've also done some testing on the PTS, and discovered that the gremlin summoned by Anagogic Aspect functions in the same way the Stalking Horror does, any further than 50ft away and it will not attack. Is there something I can do to get them to fight targets further away?

Short answer is: Working as intended.

Most pets have a 50' range of attention to attack targets. Some, such as a few temporary pets (ball lightning, fire snake) can be activated from 100' and they go to their target.

And, of course, it is quite annoying, if you are a 100' ranged character, that your pets just won't engage with your target from that distance. It is what it is. I doubt the Devs will change this as the entirety of pet AI is quite a mess and would be a lot of work that isn't on their schedule ... ever.​​

Which is why, when I see posts about ways to improve pets I always groan. To be honest, given all the times we hear about devs wanting to simplify/optimize resources, I'm surprised they haven't already taken the nerf bat to pets and restricted players to 1-2 power summoned "pets" and 1 device summoned "pet" to each character.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume the minions summoned by that Robot Factory device also only attack from 50ft or closer

Just to join you on "Peeved about Pets", earlier this year (or was it last year?), I FINALLY accumulated enough of the white rocks to purchase the ATTACK ROCK pet summoning device.

WORST AI EVER!

No control panel, so I can't tell it to Attack, Stay, Passive, etc. Meanwhile, it rarely follows me and rarely attacks. I just decided to role play it as "well, that's a rock for ya ". It's a novelty, a gag, etc. It just wasn't worth the effort to acquire. In it's present state.​​
