I'm a bit confused by the redone build- like taking Harbinger, DE in a ranged build, and not really having much AoE (unless you took Epidemic). If you just wanted a survival dps, then I'd just take your original build (which is good for an Infernal dps as is) and switch it to a Hybrid-dps w/ R3 Invuln as the passive instead. You can also get rid of R1 MD in the original build, since it doesn't boost dodge past 100% anymore and will share a cd w/ Resurgence. You could maybe get a self-res or threat wipe instead (or you could use it for R3 NW as the dps passive and make it a dual-passive build):

Alternates between IBlast and Defile for single-targets, while using Epidemic for AoE, and using the Wisp to debuff in either case. I also took Lifedrain just cause it can still proc Concentration (Life Essence can't), and you are already putting up Fear w/ the Wisp (and aren't using Pestilence here anyways). Gears mostly for Ego, w/ some Con and End.

What kind of survivability were you experiencing problems with? Trying to solo crypts, or staying on your feet against Tako? I can only speak to the latter, because I didn't bother trying to solo crypts but my infernal was consistently coming in very high on the Tako scoreboard with no deaths using the build below and all I'm wearing are heroics, 2 pieces of Onslaught and R5 mods. I started out with a dual passive build when this character was fresh and just wearing all blues so if that's where you're at right now, this thread is the build Flow helped me with. Since then I've switched to this and it's doing nicely.

You'll want to open with Wisp (Or Corrosive Pit) quite frequently to get that initial boost to your energy bar because of the passive, form, energy unlock I'm using. It's all about the poisons with this build. As for Tako, surviving him is basically just timing blocks against that giant AoE he casts

This guy (in LG with R7 mods and OSV secondaries) has no problems soling the Halloween crypts. Been known to default tank the Strength of Takofanes. Just need to know when to block.
