I Summon Thee Build Lord.

I summon thee once more oh great and wise Build Lord. Looking for more guidance with a themed build. Going for a Gun Fu/Alien Tech build. The character's right hand is a high tech cannon so I'm looking for powers that will fit: beams and energy orbs and things of that nature. Also probably gonna be dabbling mostly in the martial arts powers. Going for that sweet DPS of course.

    I know you asked for a great and wise Build Lord, but I'll help you instead. Anyways, when you say 'Gun Fu', I assume that you don't mean like gun katas? Cause that's more like pistol Muni (ex. Bullet Ballet and Lead Tempest), which aren't like one-armed hand cannon powers or anything. Alien Tech is also a bit vague, but that could be Gadgeteering or Power Armor, I guess (though even basic Force/Elemental powers could prob also qualify). Also, MA sets can use different melee weapons (or none in the case of Unarmed), and it's generally not as efficient to mix melee and ranged powers in CO. Overall, I'm not really quite sure what powersets you actually want here, but I guess I'll take a stab at it anyways:

    Most of the attacks should be employing the right hand/arm here. You can play it either at ranged or in melee. For ranged, you can use Force Blast as the main single-target attack and Rocket Punch as the main AoE (if you don't want to knock trash mobs far back w/ Force Blast, then you can tap-spam it until the enemy gets 3x knock resistance to then become immune to knocks). For melee, charged Dragon Kick is your main AoE, and charged Dragon Uppercut is your main single-target attack (and charged Dragon Kick can also put up Rush for extra energy when using Dragon Uppercut). In either case, you'll want to use Hurl to debuff and proc MSA for extra energy. Hurl may seem a bit weird to include here, but it is launched from the right arm, it's a quick and cheap MSA proc, and it can put up Demolish for your other attacks to deal more Crushing dmg. Conviction and the melee lunge (Mighty Leap) can also proc MSA. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and Int.

    I wouldn't say this is a great build overall from a practical standpoint, but for a ranged/melee mix it should still work fine in casual content.

    I should've been a bit more descriptive but it was kind of tough describing exactly what I was picturing in my head. I basically just meant the high tech hand cannon then mixed with some melee strikes (kicks, knees and other right hand based strikes.) I'm thinking Mega Man mixed with like Batman. I also have every imaginary weapon set besides the rifles so that might open a bit more options and make it easier to put together. Thank you for the first build you put together though oh great and eternally generous Build Lord.

    Well, my first build covers much of that, I think. Perhaps what you wanted was more of a melee focus? The melee set of attacks can be self-sufficient, though, so I'm not sure what to use the hand cannon for, unless you just want the occasional ranged option (maybe just have Rocket Punch, since it's also a long-ranged AoE).

    The open power slot can be used for w/e ya want.

    TKicks can be used as a basic melee/cleave attack, while charged DK is your main pbAoE (and it can AoE stun). For single-targets, TKicks can initially put up Demolish, while charged DK can be used to apply/refresh Rush (to give you extra energy for DU), DU is your main filler attack, and Backhand Chop can apply/refresh Chi Flame and refresh Demolish (and interrupt your target). I kept Rocket Punch in as a basic ranged attack. Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some Con and Rec (and some cost discount on gear).

    Here's some quick feedback:
    - You generally don't want to rank up your energy builder.
    - You forgot your 2nd SS (maybe get Rec SS if keeping Dex PSS), and one of your Talents.
    - Pulverizer isn't a great pick as the EU here, imo. Steadfast, Relentless or Chi Manip would prob be better for a build using BCF.
    - I'd swap Unbreakable for Resurgence
    - I'd prob also ditch Final Punch (it expires all of your toggle/form stacks)
    - A pbAoE like DK would also be good here, and you can get Rush via it, which can help w/ energy.
    - Although FotTempest can be okay here, you may want to consider FotMaster for BCF (DK's Rush adv and TKick's Lotus adv can also proc it). Chest Beam won't proc it, but I assume that you are only tapping Chest Beam for the extra debuff.
