So its kind of a build I always wanted to do but never could get a feel for. Its basically a jedi/sith type concept with my intention of having something like Electric Form be able to boost the sword and electric power(s). Laser Sword has always been kind of iffy for me since its changed a bit and I wasnt too fond of trying to keep plasma burn stacks since I noticed that randomly the 5th stack would fall off no matter what the timer was on it. That plus trying to manage energy for this kind of build was always a bit of an issue for me. Anywho, im willing to give it a shot again. I made something so far but it isnt exactley finished and just me kind of brainstorming so im of open to changes except I would like to keep Electrical Current as its main AoE attack. Im going for a dps build, but I know I won't be doing super optimal damage but im fine with that. Thank you in advance!

The last 2 powers can be w/e ya want.
For single-target dps, uses Lightspeed Strike to put up Disintegrate (and PBurn) and Ball Lit on cd to proc Ionic Reverb, while Lumi Slash is the main attack, and you can tap Lightwave Slash to quickly refresh both LS debuffs. AoE can be done w/ Elec Current and Ball Lit (Lightwave Slash and Lightspeed Strike can also AoE when up close). Gears mostly for Dex, w/ some End and Con.

Should I just ignore it and go with Tempest since the whole build synergizes way better with it?
Also, I really like the look of Elec Current rank 3 plus doing a little more damage with it to make up for being in melee role, but would it be better to go your route and use Bad Wiring?
And yea, you can go w/ R3 in Elec Current just fine; it's just the choice of more dmg vs. some AoE CC there.
