Sweet but Psycho

I was listening to the song and thought that to capture a superhero that fits the theme you need a variation of the Harley Queen trope.
Could even be a male for variation. The psycho is easy, big hammer, pigtails, face-paint. The sweet? Healing all around, possibly, and some hearts of course! So I concocted this build.

Any backstory ideas?
From the build point of view, the idea is to be fully hybrid to be a good off-healer off-dps. Anything obvious that I missed?

Edit:
changed the heal to a charged one to take advantage of Night Warrior and switched fron AO to AD.

It's a bit of a weird build, and I may still play it in the melee dps role. Procing Compassion could also be an issue sometimes, though you could try a different approach where you use something like Fire's Smoldering, which will give you some bonus healing and dmg from just putting up CFlames. You could also use Pulverizer, and then stack Rec since your EU and toggle/from would scale with it (and combine that w/ Pres PSS's options that scale w/ 2ndary SSs). Here's an example build for that:

(Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Melee Damage)
    v3.43:35

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Presence (Primary)
    Level 10: Recovery (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Witch (Con: 10, Int: 8, Pre: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Lasting Impression (Pre: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 9: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 12: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
Level 15: Shrug It Off (Con: 5, Pre: 5)
    Level 18: Prodigy (Pre: 5, End: 5)
Level 21: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Bludgeon
Level 1: Eruption (Rank 2, Magma Burst)
    Level 6: Unstoppable (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 8: Smoldering
    Level 11: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 14: Pulverizer
    Level 17: Iniquity (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Annihilate (Rank 2, Scorching Blade)
Level 23: Brimstone (Rank 2, Aftershock)
    Level 26: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 29: Absorb Heat (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 32: Guard (Rank 2)
    Level 35: Death's Embrace (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Fiery Embrace
    Adv. Points: 36/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6: Athletics (Rank 2)
Level 35: Jet Pack (Rank 2)

    Specializations
    Presence: Repurpose (3/3)
    Presence: Selfless Ally (2/2)
    Presence: Moment of Glory (3/3)
    Presence: Force of Will (2/2)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Elusive (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Presence Mastery (1/1)

The self-res at the end could also be replaced w/ something else.

I picked Unstoppable for the dmg shield and extra knock resist, but you could pick another fitting dps passive, if you want. The specs can also be changed around a bit, depending on what you want to focus on. Brimstone can be your main AoE, while Annihilate is your main single-target attack, and Eruption can be used to help proc Smoldering (esp while using Annihilate). Absorb Heat can consume nearby CFlames for an AoE heal (Eruption can be used afterwards to easily re-apply CF), and I kept Iniquity and the ally res- in case you wanted the extra support options. Gears mostly for Rec, w/ some Con and Pres (and some cost discount on gear).

edit: Oh, and if you want to not KB trash w/ Annihilate, you can always build up knock immunity w/ Brimstone and Eruption first.

Ty for the feedback. The idea of running in melee DPS is very interesting,.. the build could still stand as it is and I can also pick from your suggestions.

I really like smoldering since it does not depend on healing.
I was indeed worried for compassion.. stacks fall off and are not always easy to gain back, while Smoldering just stacks naturally. Alternatively I could get the form from darkness... but I cannot find a good power that applies Fear and fits the build conceptually.

Anyway, I will try it live as soon as I get another character slot. I need a good costume also...

Well, I guess you could get Wisp's Ghost Fire adv to apply CF (for Annihilate) and Fear at the same time, but that may not be thematic enough either. I think the build will do fine w/ Smoldering and being centered around CFlames (can still get decent bonus heal w/ Pres PSS, Repurpose, and Smoldering stacks), but we can explore other things if it's not satisfactory enough for you.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with builds, but since you also asked for Backstory ideas, here's one for you to work from. Instead of going the "Harley Quinn" route, go for the Two-Face "Duality of Man" route. Multiple personality disorder, one that wants to help and heal the world, the other that wants to watch it burn. Then you can play up the Sweet and the Psycho aspects.

That's a very nice angle! And really more fitting and original than the psycho girl... I saw yesterday a Snowhite with huge Axe, and it was already a better costume design than my attempt at SbPsycho.
It will be very fitting! A good costume would be challenging I am afraid, but it could be done. In this a case a dual passive build (see below) would be also interesting.

Yeah, the best power I could find that is thematic is Havoc Stomp, but it's far down, so I might just go with your suggestion.

The dual passive would be something like this one:

Yea, a dual passive approach could work, assuming you'd use the support passive in the Support role and act more as a melee healer, but then I may get Iniquity (w/ Pres PSS's Selfless Ally, instead of Psionic Healing) and/or Absorb Heat. The aura won't be as potent if not gearing Pres, though, so I may consider a different approach, or save the aura passive for a different build_character that is more committed to Support. You're also missing a good AoE attack in that build. In terms of freeing up power slots, I'd prob put Call to Battle and the self-res as lower priority (you could stock up on self-res devices, if needed).

I always forget self-res devices! that frees up a Power slot.
    Ty, as always.

I just have a very awkward love for AoE support powers like Call to Battle, and I love the stack refresh in Magma Burst, that's why I put it back there ;)

Well, Absorb Heat is technically an AoE support power too, so that helps 8) And yea, you'll want Eruption's adv when using Smoldering and Annihilate's adv that uses CFlames.

Yes Absorb Heat does qualify, I just never managed to make it effective. I will give it a try, possibly in tandem with Call to Battle.
Too bad Smoldering does not scale with Int too... it would be perfect with all these cooldown powers and MSA.

Anyway, I could try with this... and yeah I still miss the high-dmg AoE, besides Earthquake, but it's a weird build as you said, Flow.

BTW I keep using Night Warrior since I like the stealth and wanted the charge reduction (hence why I chose Psionic Healing, but indeed Iniquity has better synergy). And also because I have no heroes with it... not irrelevant.

Well, I'd prob still prefer something like Arc of Ruin or Brimstone over Earthquake, just due to the cd and high cost of the ult, but w/e floats your boat.

Soo I elaborated the Female version, the one that does not play into the "two-faces" idea:
