Help turning my dps to tank

I'm looking to turn this build from dps to a tank with Invulnerability. I'm pretty happy with the powers, but I'm not very good at coming up with stats and specializations for tanks. Below is the dps build as of now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Not enough health, not enough threat, not enough debuffs.

I know you're happy with your powers but shifting to tank role also means to change powers (I know it, I had to change my DB powers for Unarmed to build a LR tank and I do love the DB animations).
I'll try nonetheless to stay in-theme.

Here's my take on it :
    Electric Tank
You deal more damages with a better hold resistance (Ego).
Reckless applies a mini-shield, it's not a superstrong shield but still useful.
Chain Lightning applies a resistance debuff while SoEB applies a damage debuff. Mystic Transference adv, with its cdr, allows you to permadebuff your target.

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Constitution (Primary)
    Level 10: Ego (Secondary)
    Level 15: Endurance (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Mountain (Str: 8, Con: 10, Ego: 10, End: 10)
    Level 6: Ascetic (Con: 5, Ego: 5)
Level 9: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)
    Level 12: Daredevil (Ego: 5, End: 5)
Level 15: Field Ops Training (Con: 3, Int: 3, Ego: 3, Rec: 2, End: 2)
    Level 18: Enduring (Con: 8)
    Level 21: Indomintable (Ego: 8)

    Powers
    Level 1: Electric Bolt
Level 1: Cleave (Rank 2, Rampant, Challenge!)
Level 6: Decimate (Nailed to the Ground)
    Level 8: Sparkstorm (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Invulnerability (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 14: Chain Lightning (Rank 2, Superconductor)
    Level 17: Guard (Rank 2)
    Level 20: Power Source
    Level 23: Ionic Reverberation
Level 26: Sigils of Ebon Weakness (Rank 2, Mystic Transference)
    Level 29: Lock N Load (Rank 2)
    Level 32: Unbreakable (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Bionic Shielding (Rank 2)
    Level 38: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Adv. Points: 36/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6: Swinging
    Level 35: Electro Flight

    Specializations
    Constitution: Fuel My Fire (3/3)
    Constitution: Tough (3/3)
    Constitution: Resilient (2/2)
    Constitution: Armored (2/2)
    Protector: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Protector: Bulwark (2/2)
    Protector: Defensive Expertise (2/3)
    Protector: Resolute (3/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Slaughter (2/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Constitution Mastery (1/1)

I suggest Swinging for main TP : the jump height will help to soak part of the knock damages. And Electro Flight for the theme.

Well, these are some weird powers you've stuck together here, at least from a mechanical standpoint. I guess my main concern is getting reliable energy as a tank w/ FotT and having to focus less on Dex and more on Con. For a tank, I may at least sub Ball Lit for Dust Devil, trade LStorm for Sparkstorm or Storm Summoner (LStorm is still a fine AoE to have, but the others are wider), and use Ionic Reverb for the strong energy backbone from keeping Ball Lit up in the background:

Another benefit of putting more Elec powers in there is that you can make use of Elec Siphon's heal. Storm Strike (Elec's ult) also has a threat adv, if you want an alternative ult to Whirlpool (though it's a bit more costly). Also, if you find that you need to tap Skewer more often due to blocking, then you could get its tap adv, and/or maybe just get R3 on it. It's up to you, as you have some decent other options here, but I'd still prob take a more prominent Elec background for the build- just to make it more cohesive.

What do you want to be able to tank? Broadly speaking, the difference between tank and dps is Challenge on attacks (and rotations set up to make it always active), making sure you can keep your form active despite spending a lot of time blocking with a critter that probably wants to get right up in your face, a defensive passive, and lots of hit points.

Your power list for dps is... strange and inefficient, though. It will likely be equally inefficient as a tank. What theme are you looking for?

the theme is an Atlantean, with a trident for Skewer and some storm summoning powers. The set up is admittedly strange, but worked well enough for dps. any suggestion for another form that may benefit me more as a tank?

Well, the basic problem is that you're using a melee form and most of your powers are ranged. It works okay because most of this game is easy mode, but the problem with tanking is that it's only useful for a small amount of content (most content just doesn't need tanks) and the content that does need tanks is pretty demanding on the tank.

Ranged tanking is hard to make work, though an electrical build using power source (such as the one holloweaver posted, though I'd disagree with some of his power choices) should be viable.

@pantagruel01 : I'm not very familiar with electric powers but I'm glad to read that I'm not that wrong with my suggested build.
  • flowcytoflowcyto Posts: 12,852 Arc User
You could use Power Source in my build too- just change the SS setup to incorporate End SS for the toggle/form. Skewer will be quite weaker then, assuming you still want to melee, but then at least Ball Lit alone can stack your toggle/form while you do other things.

Must say I didn't think of using End PSS for an Elec Tank, but upon reviewing the tree's options, it does actually look pretty good for it. Nice build, Panta 8)

This is what I use as an electric tank/dps hybrid. Have tanked all the cosmics with it, even using Invuln instead of Defiance. Was meant to be more of an off-tank, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
