Game Play for Beginners.

I have come back to play Champions from a 5 year absence because a friend of mine told me the game has improved quite a bit. There a improvements, but a lot of work needs to be done, the least of which allows me to post to the community in game for assistance. Has anyone else gotten "You can't post here because your account is new"? How do you expect people to have fun if they can't communicate in game and especially request help with a boss fight? Can anyone explain this?

Newly created characters can't use public channels until some time has passed or I think spent money in the z store; it's an antispammer move.

While you can't post in Zone, you can still try Local around the Powerhouse and the horseshoe shaped mission pickup area where Defender hangs out. During events, these areas can be rather sparsely populated, but other times, there are often groups that just hang around chit-chatting. As these tend to be more long-term players (not always, but most of the time), you should get some helpful response. Of course, you might also get some typical 'git gud' comments, but the majority of the veteran community tend not to act like nine-year-olds.

(Except when they're playing nine-year-old characters, but that's just me… I think)

Funny, I've made new characters before and yet can use Zone. Then again I also am a very old account that's bought Zen.

Nothing wrong with playing child characters. They're fun to revisit the childish side of my personality. Should also point out that the portrayal of a child character is NOT against the Terms of Service.
