power armor healer?

This came up at dino yesterday. While waiting for the second dino to spawn, we started talking about how many people were using power armor builds. Not only did we have multiple PA DPS, but we also had a PA tank. So someone wondered about whether it's possible to be an effective healer at a cosmic using a Power Armor build.

    Slotted PA toggles lockout all other power types when used. Generally, that's not gonna work well since healing is less about 'rotations' and more about reacting and adapting to the situation, and power lockouts could be really bad for that. Even tanking w/ PA's slotted toggles can also be problematic for content that takes frequent blocking.

    Ofc, you could make a tank or healer w/ some non-slotted PA attacks for theme, but you'd still need a decent enough backbone for tanking or healing to pull it off.

    Maybe a better question is what Power Armor abilities actually support using a healer role?

    Well, any healer can sample from any powerset's attacks for offense; PA's slotted stuff is just a specific problem due to power lockouts. Else, there's not much in PA for a healer, though you could use Binding Shot as an instant-cast paralyze to proc debuffs with. Ofc, you can also use PA's Energy Shield as the block. You'd prob want to cross over into Gadgeteering and/or Celestial a bit to round out the support array some more. Here's one basic example of a support that uses some non-slotted PA powers:

    The slotted passive could be a diff aura, like AoAC, AoRP, AoED, or Med Nanites- depending on what you want to focus on as a support. Tac Missiles is its basic single-target attack, and Rocket Punch its basic AoE. You can alternate between taps of Bolas and Binding Shot to roll spec-related debuffs with (Vuln, Wither, Trapped, Sent Mastery). Else, you have a pretty normal healer repertoire in Iniquity + Conviction, plus self- and ally reses. Gears mostly for Pres, w/ some Con and Int.

    I can't wait for the PA update that adds 3 toggle healing powers to the set ;)
