Force Patch after a WTEX error doesn't work?

Apparently after running into a corrupted file the game crashes. Usually after unlocking a new costume, editing in tailor or crashing for no reason during Nightmare Event. Then it tell you Force Patching might help but it just sticks on the corrupted file during patch until one closes the log in screen. This leads me to believe it doesn't work. If it worked the corrupted file should somehow be deleted then redownloaded but it doesn't do anything. This error seems to happen very often since i started playing and doesn't seem to be going to be fixed anytime soon. The solution always leads to deleting and redownloading the entire game.
