Devices and Power Unlocks

There are many devices in game, but I don't really know which ones might be worth having. What devices do you guys like, and which ones should be avoided as a waste of game currencies?

I'm equally curious about the power unlocks from the various stores. I've seen several people using hydras & dinosaur pheromones...are these among the best? What else should I focus on attaining?
