    +1 for being optional.
    A toggle on the roster page would be ideal.

    I disagree with a drop down menu that lets you pick your sorting method.

    I think it should be big blue buttons that let you pick your sorting method, cause that would fit more nicely with the current UI. Fite me.​​

    Yeah, a saying that has been around for years...Spinny confirms it's a bad.

    The modern software development equivalent tends to be "if it isn't broken, wrap it in tests before changing it". It's not especially relevant here, though, because neither the old nor the new is broken, it's not like you are unable to log in with either sort method. Instead, we're looking at UI changes, and the general rule is that anything you do will annoy someone.

    That doesn't mean you should never make changes, but you should expect pushback and be prepared to at a minimum explain why the new version is better.
