New gravity based FF

slowecsl4pweslowecsl4pwe Posts: 221 Arc User
Hi,

I wanted to update one of my characters based around the force framework and Force Cascade especially. I looked at the Hybrid AT which utilizes PFF (yeah I know) but I definitely want to turn this into a DPS Ranged. So I'm not even sure of the SS's and OFF Passive since they use END as PSS which is probably not the best but I understand the FC takes a ton of energy to spam, if you even can.

Could someone help me please to come up with a build that stands up to end game content and Alerts?

Thanks

I'm sure Flowcyto will be giving you a great, full-fledged build. I simply want to chime in with some powers that can be used to emulate/simulate gravity/magnetism.

    Hurricane (Wind)
    Whirlwind w/ Vortex adv (Wind)
Gravitic Ripple (Force, after you spend 10k OV tokens to purchase)
    Quicksand (Earth)
    Updraft (Wind)
    Force Snap (Force)
    Force Geyser (Force)

Generally, these are filler powers as Force Cascade will probably be your BIG HIT. And, if energy IS an issue, never discount Typhoon (Wind). Pretty similar, but less energy hungry.

Thanks warcanch, I was playing with the build creator and had placed some such as Hurricane since I will have to use other frameworks. It's the energy unlock that I'm wondering which to work in as Force doesn't really have one.

There's a good few ways to go about it. For outright spamming of Force Cascade, you may want to use Unstoppable's knock energy w/ some Rec gearing, since it can give very large energy return on knocks atm. Unstoppable and Rec aren't ideal for ranged dps in of themselves, but if they allow you to spam FC then that could help make up for it.

Other ways could be w/ using Force Blast w/ Preemptive Strike to go w/ FC (rotating in the blast can lower the energy requirements somewhat), and/or something like an Int heavy-setup that uses Geyser to roll MSA. You could also greatly lighten the energy load and ditch FC, and just throw in 2-3 ranged crushing debuffs (Muni grenades, Chest Beam) and spam Force Blast. Base dmg won't be great from a blast, but you won't have to devote nearly as much towards energy stats, and the debuffs and the blast's knock-immune dmg bonus can help prop the base dmg up a bit. Ofc, you can also switch gears and use Typhoon instead, as mentioned (Typhoon builds still take good energy management, but not as insane as for FC). Hybrid-dps builds using AoPM or AoAC are also options to lighten energy load, though bringing hybrid passives w/ very weak auras is generally frowned upon for group content, and you'll miss out on the dmg bonus from the Ranged dps role.

Here's an example of the Unstoppable method:

MSA is still there, but mainly to payback using Conviction to heal (alternatively, you could use Muni's fire grenade w/ TReverb, or Chest Beam w/ Unified Theory- keeping in mind both attack's 50ft range limit). The bulk of your energy here should be from Unstoppable + Rec, and some from the toggle/form. Maybe get the form's stat (here, Ego) to 200-250-ish for the dmg boost, then put most of the rest in Rec. The blast + Avenger's Preemptive Strike spec option is there to consider too. Regardless, you'll def want to test this stuff out in the PH/PTR to see how energy is faring in your desired gear.

Thanks all. I'll give it a try in the PH.
