The Fire Elemental - Fire build

So as far as CC is concerned the problem with Fire is that it doesn't have any fast holds. Everything either requires 2-4 seconds before it even starts taking effect and that's not really useful for a squisho trying to solo the warzone. Flame Prison in particular has the same issue as Ego Storm where it will just stop maintaining for various reasons, leaving you with half or less of the hold you were hoping would buy you some time. The only knock the set has is the knock down on Pyre.

SO forget all that stuff, this is a very direct, brute force build. It's kind of like my Power Armor build, except that instead of fighting from 100ft away, you're right in the middle of the mobs exploding repeatedly. It's pretty cool, and I like it because it's different from my other dps squishos and variety is the something of something. So on to the video!

As always, I forgot to use the resistance devices u3u

The strategy is simple and straight forward. Blast something with Fireball+Rimefire, then pop an AD and dive in there and start making everything explode. You want to limit yourself to using 1 AD per fight so you don't have to wait to engage the next group, so you'll want to work quickly while the AD is up to cull the mob numbers so you can survive once it goes away. Luckily Fire is still a devastating aoe freak beast. Pyre has a wide area and hits hard, and Fireball is basically like shooting a short range grenade launcher; and importantly, you can tap both of these while moving around for good heavy and fully mobile dps. It's also easy to underestimate just how convenient it is to have Fire Snake sliding around dropping your damage debuff on things for you.

It's likely that these kinds of perks are the reason Fire didn't get certain other additions. Fire didn't get the same kind of overhaul that the other powersets got, but then again those other sets don't have things like Rimefire Burst and Absorb Heat. And Fire Snake, truly a unique power among debuff powers.

Also hilarious is the fact that NPCs will aggro to your fire patches. From like really far away, and through walls n stuff. Like when you get within their "warning aggro" range, where they turn to look at you but don't attack, if you have a pyre patch active they'll start attacking it. Take that time to really line up that first fireball just perfectly :D
