High Noon 2019

Alright forum friends, with the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 by Rockstar Games and the official creation of my gunslinger character, i've decided to make another thread with ideas for next year's High Noon event.

First up, ideas for a new AT which I have dubbed:

The Westerado

The base statistics for this framework are Dexterity and Ego.

Hunter's Shot



Toggle energy builder, power already exists in game.

Pistol Whip

Tap stun, power already exists.

-[Level 6]-

Silver Bullet



Tap single target ranged damage, power already exists in game.

-[Level 8]-

Composure or Defiance

-[Level 11]-

Gunslinger's Legacy

This attack could be upgraded from a device to an official addition to the Munitions power pool. Or,

Gun Fanning



An new alternate maintain power for single pistol.

-[Level 14]-

Sharp Shooter

-[Level 17]-

Dance fool, dance!

Named for what is said when activated, this ranged immobilization attack is used by cowboy robots, with a stronger version used by ASCII Oakley. Animation already exists for this power, not yet available to players.

Antagonize or Retaliation

-[Level 25]-

Killer Instinct

-[Level 30]-

I Aim With My Eye

A reference to Stephen King, this attack would be a single pistol long range charge shot. Animation for this power already exists in game.

Lock N' Load

-[Level 40]-

Lucky Shot

Tap with long cooldown, single target medium range damage. Fires one heavy shot with damage equivalent to Shadow Strike. Applies Feelin' Lucky buff which increases critical severity.



Ideas for new costume pieces to add to the event store:

Sombrero hat



Tombstone hat



Poncho chest layer



Guitar Case weapon skin for Gatling gun



There is currently no Western option for the SMG category of gun. This could be remedied with the inclusion of:



Slot Machine chest layer or torso option



Peace Pipe mouth accessory



Plaid option for pants



Tumbleweed aura

I love most of this, lots of cool stuff here.

For the level 40 cap power, maybe something slightly different? Shadow strike is really only powerful early on in the game, once you get to the high end stuff it's really not that useful. I'd like to see something that would fit a tier 4 in terms of damage and power but those instant kills usually only happen early in the game and if this is a level 40 power you're not going to be instant killing anything by the time you get it.

As far as costumes go, I'm sure a whole Mariachi costume would be wonderful, I've always wanted to make a cowboy like the three a Amigos. Some more native American costumes would be great as well, maybe totem themed auras?

Well sadly Execution Shot isn't tier 4 and not very damaging on it's own, just about everything is wrong with it; it's melee range only, doesn't knock or stun, and doesn't do full damage unless the enemy is less than 20% health. Lucky Shot was intended to fix that by being everything ES isn't, which is a ranged tap shot with knockback and high damage in exchange for having a long cooldown.

Yeah, having to choose between having a sweet beard or a cigarillo clamped into the corner of your mouth seems like a bad decision to make. Also: could we have cigarillos for our western characters? Especially the ones wearing ponchos.

Maybe they could add it to side accessories so we could pair the two and still have facial hair as well. Also a cool effect would be to add a smoke trail to the tip of it, they could recycle the barrel smoke effect from Bullet Hail and add it to the cigarillo.

What they should do is add Mouth Accessories A and B, like they did for doubling up the Hairs.

the animations are in the game, there just needs to be some desire to either make them alternative one handed animations for existing dual weapon powers or create new powers for a single gun power subset.
