Champions Online needs to stop discriminating against "too new" AMD drivers

Star Trek Online and Neverwinter already removed the silly check that reads version numbers and tries to figure out if your driver is "too old" because it kept failing on driver versions that were "too new" as well on various AMD card configurations like Polaris and Vega.

Champions Online needs to remove this check as well, as forcibly resetting my graphics configuration with no method to opt out permanently isn't acceptable behavior.

Really? They’re repeating errors from the City of Heroes version of Cryptic Engine now? The last time this happened, CoH broke because Old Cryptic never expected Nvidia’s major version number, which may hit 400 this year, to go above 99. I haven’t run AMD hardware since the Windows Vista launch disaster. (I had to buy a cheap’n’cheerful Radeon just to get a stable desktop, because Nvidia’s drivers were only good for rendering Blue Screens of Death.) Have they changed their version number format recently?
Choose your enemies carefully, because they will define you / Make them interesting, because in some ways they will mind you
They're not there in the beginning, but when your story ends / Gonna last with you longer than your friends
