What is the current state of affairs regarding subs/PP/etc.?

Not looking to argue the positions on this subject on one side our the other. I've had an incredibly busy work schedule over the summer so I haven't kept tabs on everything recently and I am just curious as to where this whole situation has ended up. Are subs staying the same, are they going to be removed or have they already been removed? I keep seeing conflicting info on this. Also, were those character unlocks upon reaching level 40 changed? I think I did see that the character limit was raised to 100 (enforced?), but that's about all I know. Thanks for any info you can provide.

You now can't start a new monthly sub. If you already have one you can keep it going, but if it ever lapses then that's it.

You get a one time free character slot on your account for the first time you reach 40. No more than that.

    Character limit at 100.

On the other tentacle, if you haven't hit that 100-toon cap yet, new character slots are 100Z, so if you're subbed or LTS, you can buy up to five per month with just your stipend. Also, if you're Silver you can now purchase a FF slot and apply it to an existing character. (They apparently lowered the price on those as well - I didn't keep up on that.)

You can now convert your inactive subscription slots to active FF slots. The situation has been resolved in a satisfactory manner.

That is true. Sadly, my friends that I was looking to return with were all subbed prior to June, and took a break to see how things panned out after last months situation. So not much incentive for me personally to get back on with them not returning, at least not in the long term. They have 20'ish+ freeforms, and even at the new rates it's just not worth the cost for them to continue since they were just playing the game very casually.

Not for some, but that's the case with any major change I suppose. No use in crying over spilled milk, though. I'll let you all get back to it.

well LTS is on sale for $120, that's just the cost of 8 month's of sub.

Sadly, it was hard enough keeping most of the gang interested for even $15 a month. I did bring the sale up to them, but they just bring up the reality that the game is a decade old with tons of unfixed bugs and minimal content influx (etc., etc.) and that it is hardly worth the sub-fee alone. The only other one who is interested just doesn't trust the company at this stage. And I think there is some merit to that. If they are willing to barre content once, they'll do it again. So you either like the game enough to pay $120 to protect yourself from content access being changed, or you don't. As I said though, not trying to rain on anyone elses parade at this stage. I bought my LTS this year not knowing this change was coming, and the consequence was that everyone I joined with (and the reason I joined in the first place) quit and left me stuck with an LTS I won't be making use of. That's life though.

I can understand your position. To be honest I never try and sell any friends on MMOs anymore, failed once/wasted their time(at least I felt I did), so I won't again. Perhaps, if you want to maybe try getting something out of your LTS, you could make some new 40s or something along those lines? However, I'm assuming you've already considered that avenue. I hope you find a way to get the most out of your LTS :). I myself have come to the realization that I just don't have it in me to make anymore 40s going forward, but I think I got something in the 2 years I've had this LTS over the many I've played, so at least there was that.

On the bright side, I know about a dozen people who purchased LTSs in the past week.
