DPS for Cosmic/World Event

As title states, started to building a DPS for Cosmics/World Events under Munitions.

I could use a lot of advices for that purpose.

    Could use other slotted passives too- like the melee ones or NW. I figured Fire nade w/ advs is more convenient and an easier fit for added dps and a 2nd debuff, instead of using a charged lunge from MA. Dex Mastery is also nice, though then you prob want to skip on gearing for severity rating. Also, from quick testing it seems like Bullet Ballet is flagged as AoE still, and even w/o the special adv (4 AoE ticks per full combo, since it has four parts). Getting R2 of Burst Shot isn't a huge deal here, so if you want more free adv points you could prob start there.

    Str PSS w/ STR/Dex/Rec_Con could also be a decent SS setup here.

    Yeah, BB do in the 3rd attack AoE damage even if you don't have the adv... intended or a bug, don't know.

    Why the adv of BB if already have Lead Tempest and the skill still does AoE?
    The added AoE Damage is a extra damage added to the normal damage of the skill?

    For better optimal damage wich Offensive Support go better... Composure, WotW or Unstoppable? I have some idea about WotW and Unstoppable, but Composure gives better round % damage to all tech skills.

    Burst Shot adv... well give Furious on tap so I don't see anything bad to it.

    About the stats...

    What is the difference about STR to DEX?
    STR = Get more severity than critical?
    DEX = Get more critical than severity?

    Yea, the AoE hit from BBs adv registers on top of the normal dmg, so I'd prob take BB's adv if using the Furious adv from Burst Shot. Three of BB's portions also have minor AoE components innately (all but the initial part), but they are small.

    Composure is fine if you also want to buff the Ranged Tech stuff, and you get some knock resist too iirc.

    Str PSS can be either w/ Overpower or Juggernaut, depending if you take Con SS (obv not taking Rec SS then) and want the extra defense or not. There prob isn't a big dps diff between either main SS option (assuming you can roll 5x Expose Weakness) w/ a Dex focus either way. But you can parse it to see if any difference is significant or not.

    Well if I can nearly get same DPS with Dex w/ Expose Weakness then I choose DEX/Rec/Con to get better HP if any cosmic want to spook me... even need to make a parse when can do it at 40 with the two setups.

    If too much to ask how to gear this toon? I'm still green in terms with the gear+slotting.

    At 40 ditch Heirlooms with some equal tier from quest40 that are nearly equal Merc or if can get mercs?
    And then from there what are my best options (Farming GRC/SRC+Cosmic items)?

    Mercs w/ rank 5 mods are perfectly fine to start off with. You'd mostly be gearing for Dex here- maybe start w/ 4 mod's worth of it, 1 mod each of the other two SS's (or 2x Con if you want more health). Then 2ndaries can be lvl 37-40 BoE rares or epics from the AH- getting more of the 3 SS's w/ them as you see fit. Offensive gear can have crit rating (double up on them w/ Dex Mastery, or get one crit rating & one bonus heal mod; get crit rating + severity w/o Dex Mastery), defensive gear can have maxHP and/or defense, and utility gear can mix cost discount and CD reduction.
