LR build review

Hello, I've made some changes to my two Lightning Reflexes build in light of the changes made to MA powerset. Would like to have feedback on them.

The first one was my old 100% dodge build, but with the changes made to ebb and flow, that was no longer possible. The highest I've been able to get with dodge now is 97.7% and 98.7% if I take Flippin adv. Knowing the pros and cons of a dodge build (whether it succeeds or fails, it does both spectacularly), I still like to keep her close to the original concept of being fast and nimble, hence getting as close to 100% as possible. I took SC instead of SS because it works with the EU.

Sounds like you need to get more dodge rating and Dex if you want to bridge the gap to 100%, but yeah its gonna be very hard now after the changes.

These days, if 100% dodge isn't w/in reach, I may go in the other direction and use Defiance/Invuln, and treat the dodge/avoid buffs as a bonus for overall mitigation (can still take adv of BCR/RR and Gifts)- rather than relying on dodge.

Shuriken Storm is mostly just to tag scattered mobs; it can't proc FotM and Chi Manip, but BCR can proc them while you use it. DK can also proc both at anytime when you fully charge it.

Basic rotation is to put up Lithe w/ TKicks, charge DK for Rush and Nimble Moves, and then charge-spam BCF as energy allows. Devastating Strike can also give you a burst of threat (assuming you have it and can afford it). Keep BCR/RR up too. CoPD can also be nice for any tank build that can hunker down w/ it. Gears mostly for Con, w/ some Dex and Rec/End. Also should get some cost discount on gear.

Yes, it's hard to get the numbers for dodge now, I was wondering if teaming up with an AoPM build could push it past 100% but haven't been able to test that so far. Guess I won't be needing two dodge build. Your build looks very interesting, a Defiance tank with dodge elements. I hadn't thought of that. Sadly, I don't have the newer ultimates but that's just a minor concern, will just take CoPD in its place. Thanks for the build Flow, can't wait to try it out.

AoPM may be enough, though you'd want to make sure ur running w/ friends that can give it to you. If you can still get/keep 100% dodge, its still very powerful.

The Defiance build is mostly going to mitigate like any other Defiance tank, so its better vs. big hits than vs. frequent hits or trash (which LR can be good for). Assuming you can keep them up, the dodge/avoid buffs should be a nice side-perk, though.

100% dodge is possible, not at Kiga if you don't take the sentinel or was it sentry spec that makes your energy builder give you dodge,

  • flowcytoflowcyto Posts: 12,845 Arc User
Yea, that's true. You can try Twist Fate in Sentry to bridge the gap, though its only a 5-sec duration. I guess there's still no getting around the high amount of maintenance required.

Thanks blockwave for pointing out that spec, and flow for the name of that spec. I will certainly give it a try. That may be all it needs to get past 100. Yeah, it sure takes a lot of upkeep to stay there.

...And after trying it out, it works! =) Thanks guys, appreciate your insightful help.

There's two options for Kiga. One is twist fate, as noted above. The other is Dex primary with Brush It Off; your raw dodge chance will be slightly lower because quick reflexes isn't as good as deflection, and you won't have any knock or hold resistance, but most and possibly all Cosmic attacks are area effects (I think they're all area, but they might not all be tagged as area).

I use twist fate on my dodge tank, and then sparkstorm so the energy builder isn't a total waste.

I used dex primary for a while, and sadly, kiga attacks are not considered aoes.
