The Space Captain - Heavy sustained single target help

Hello all, longtime player first time poster (I'm builds).

I'm looking into help with a thematic endgame build with PBR as a primary attack. This dude is like a Boba Fett/Space Crusader type of guy, so lasers and big booms are my thing. I'm used to cosmic fights, so I want to make sure he can hold his own while meeting necessary dps checks.

Lead tempest is basically just a trash sweeper with slight defense if I'm in a bind. I can do without it if there is a more practical move.

I thought focused strikes may be unnecessary overkill, so maybe mass destruction to boost what little aoe I have?

Currently full justice, mostly ego, and cosmic secondaries, so I can stat for whatever.

It tests pretty well, but I'm concerned with my aoe, or lack thereof. Last 2 slots will prolly be another aoe and/or AO.

    While it can be a fine heal for various reasons, BCR will lower your dps when its up. For optimal dps, you may want to stick w/ Conviction. Also, I'd prob keep Focused Strikes if ur doing Cosmics, as it helps w/ single-target dps vs. them.

    If you want an easy way to boost PBR's dps, then I'd use taps of Chest Beam. Also, MSA scales w/ Int, and not Rec. You could use Overdrive (+ End) as the EU instead, if most of ur attacks are maintains, but MSA could still work. PBR alone doesn't need much energy regardless.

    The Matrix adv on Energy Wave is expensive and kinda weak. If taking EWave, I'd likely use it to clump mobs via Rev Polarity, instead of scattering them.

    Lead Tempest is a fine AoE, assuming you aren't already at 100ft due to PBR. If its to be the main AoE, then I may just get it to R3 if swapping out BCR.
    If you want more dps, then you could trade Con SS for Dex SS, though that will make you squishier.

    Are you saying that power armor slots can be used during normal sustains? Because that changes the game for me if so. I'll have to see how this works when i get home.

    Thanks for the advice; it works well with my image for this toon. Agreed on BCR and MSA. Fairly certain I will keep Con because I'm a wuss, but I could just slot Growth instead. I'll look into it.

    Only PA slotted powers can be used w/ other PA slotted powers of a diff slot, and Chest Beam is no longer a slotted power anyways.
    I meant that if you tap Chest Beam, it applies the Burn Through debuff, which can boost your Particle dmg for PBR (it also boosts Crushing dmg).

    Here are 3 builds to choose from. The main rotation in all of them is:
    Chest Beam tap -> Frag Nade toss -> 2x full PBR Maintain....repeat.

    It's important to fully maintain PBR as much as possible because it's an escalating maintain and deals most of it's damage in the latter half of its ticks.

    Builds are as follows:
    highest DPS is: DEX prim / geared for EGO (if you have great gear re:energy efficiency)
    close second: EGO prim / geared for EGO (take this if you want more energy efficiency until you get better gear)
    close 3rd: INT prim / geared for DEX+200ish INT (take this if you want a bit more HP, don't have a DUC, and have more DEX/INT mods and less EGO mods)

    Yea, if also thematic, then Frag Nade is another good way to boost dps when w/in 50ft. Worth noting, though, that if ur using it, Overdrive scales more w/ End than Rec.

    Hmm, the grenade does fit the theme and is super practical, especially since I probably won't be max range at cosmics. I like the dex pss idea; not sure why I didn't look into that. I'll have to give it a whirl as well. Looks very good. Thanks, kamokami.
