Iron Commissar

jojenmaihemjojenmaihem Posts: 161 Arc User
Bored of the Ranged builds, want to come back to my roots, this case Melee (Behemoth AT was my first choice when CO go out in Steam). So I make a combination with Melee Single Blade Bleeds with few Munitions powers to make a resemblace to the Commissars from WH40k.

This is my attemp.

My question here is, what changes need to make for a more Off-Tank approach? And about PSS can use EGO for crit/weakness with stacked STR as secondary in case I don't want to go with Off-Tank route?

Thanks for the help as always!

The build lacks a toggle/form atm, and if most of ur main attacks are still going to be SB then I may just take Steadfast as the EU. FotS is the best toggle for normal SB/bleed builds, though it will shift the gear focus to Dex (can still keep Str PSS for knock resist and Juggernaut + Con SS).

I prob wouldn't attempt to actively off-tank w/ an offensive passive build, but you could still pull that off in easier content. May be tough to hold aggro w/o a challenge adv (ofc, you wouldn't want that adv on an essential attack for dps either). More straightforward to just make it a committed dps build w/ some defenses to fall back on.

An example of how it could work:

Isn't Relentless better if I'm going to put bleeds/shredd?

And Dex... don't like Dex, because all the DPS is Dex here or there... that's why I asked about EGO as PSS.

And related to the offtank maybe swapping WotW with Defiance can work better (maybe letting the passive in the end of the leveling to change it), the problem is the loss of dps from WotW here to keep aggro in high levels. (Even with the bleedings I don't know if is practical keeping the aggro).

Well, the nice thing about Steadfast is that w/ MA's Focus toggles already using Dex, you naturally can have high crit, and then you can more consolidate on a single stat for better overall performance. Besides which, Relentless still takes crits to proc on targets w/ wounds, whereas Steadfast just takes MA crits. Relentless would be better if the build had more non-MA attacks it was using heavily. Also, if ur just talking bleeds, then Wild Thing is also pretty straightforward (scales off of End, though).

If you want to go w/o Dex, then you could try AotB + Str and it could work okay. Keep in mind that Reaper's Caress won't have double the bleed chance then, cause ur not using a Focus toggle, and that's not really ideal. I suppose you could get Stinging Bee on Backhand Chop for a stack of Focus, but that's in Unarmed and another power slot taken. Going w/o Dex will also lower ur crit rate a bit.

If you are unsure about tanking, then you could try a dual-passive build, but then the issue of potentially using a Challenge adv remains, and you'd have to get good mileage out of swapping between passives and roles to really justify it (at least imo).

Interesting, always though all forms where Focus... the more you know.

So moving inside the tanking I need to change WotW for Defiance and add some "Chagenlle!" to skills keeping all the same (gearing some Crit and CON)

Could try it and take some notes then.

I may use Invuln or Regen for an off-tank, just cause Defiance procs on getting hit, while Invuln or Regen are up all the time. You prob should't need the extra energy Defiance grants anyways. If swapping between passives, though, then Defiance could work for groups.
